Memoriam releases first single “Shell Shock”, Primal Fear reveal new video for ‘Blood, Sweat & Fear’, Exodus celebrate 40 year anniversary with the release of ‘No Love (Live At Day In The Dirt 1984)’.
After an enormously successful year in 2018, German metal commandos PRIMAL FEAR kicked off 2019 with shows in Greece alongside GUS G. But before continuing their »Apocalypse« touring cycle in Sofia, Bulgaria, the band is pleased to announce that their first three studio albums – »Primal Fear«, »Jaws Of Death«, and »Nuclear Fire« – will be (re-)released on marbled vinyl on June 14, 2019 through Nuclear Blast.
To celebrate, the group recently unveiled a brand new music video for ‘Blood, Sweat & Fear’, taken from their latest studio album »Apocalypse«. The video, which was shot during PRIMAL FEAR‘s 2018 European headline tour alongside their label mates in RIOT V, can be watched HERE.
The war rages on! Old school metal veterans MEMORIAM are set to unleash their third album, »Requiem For Mankind«, on June 21st, 2019 via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band have revealed the lyric video for new track ‘Shell Shock’.
The band states: “A new Memoriam song, a new approach, and as with all our albums a new sound for us to use. “Shell Shock ” is the first track we recorded for the “Requiem For Mankind” album. It is a bit of a Death Metal headbanger of a track! Subject wise it deals with the effects of being on the frontline
amongst all the noise and chaos of a horrific war situation from an individual standpoint, and also
that the soldier does not die from an enemy bullet! Sound wise it needed to sound a bit epic, we think we have achieved this on “Shellshock” and have used this as the blueprint sound throughout the album.”
The formation of the beast we now call EXODUS began in Richmond, CA in 1979, and although many started their journey as fans a few years down the line, there is no debating that the early 80’s was a time for major growth in the world of thrash metal, especially in the Bay Area of California.
Day In The Dirt was perhaps the ultimate example of the Bay Area thrash metal underground scene in 1984. A plywood stage constructed in a Berkeley, CA park where SLAYER, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and EXODUS played to a frenzied crowd of headbangers. It was also evident from this show, and others like it, why EXODUS was so influential on the Bay Area scene and thrash metal in general. With the eventual release of their first album »Bonded By Blood«, the band would take their music and their live show to new heights of insanity in the years that followed.

Gary Holt comments, “Day In The Dirt was almost like the Bay Area thrash metal Woodstock, our own underground version on the legendary Day On The Green shows we all attended so many times. What happened that day at Aquatic Park in Berkeley has gone down in Bay Area lore as an epic day for the underground thrash scene. The brainchild of the late great Wes Robinson, we were fortunate to have been a key part of such a great show. It was Rick Hunolt’s second EXODUS show as well I believe!”
