Philippines death metal act Natal Cleft have just dropped a brand new track “Asbestos Flagon” from their upcoming new album “Particles of Hate” which is set to be released later this year. The track can be heard below or you can check it out on their Facebook page here.
Speaking on the new song, the band states: “Asbestos is a soft, gray-white material that does not burn and was used in buildings as a protection against fire, and as a form of insulation (way of stopping heat from escaping). Flagon is a large container. Existence is full of pain, suffering and all kinds of bullshit. We must be an asbestos flagon that is resistant to the fires of life. Horn up!”
Natal Cleft was spawned at the University of the Philippines in Cebu City by founding members Jecar “Zeekevil” Sahilan (vocalist) and Jonathan Bruce Elias(guitarist). Musically fitting in the more technical progressive death metal genre with influences ranging from Death, Porcupine Tree and other forms of extreme metal, music always wins is their mantra. Not letting their personal lives get in their way of reaching their goals, the band has persevered through lineup changes before finding their kindred souls in music with Rex Bontuyan (bassist), Dennis Moga (drummer) and Cholo Lanza (guitarist) in what they now consider to be their best line up yet with a stronger focus, commitment and sheer fucking will.
Natal Cleft’s international exposure started when they hit the metal charts at Signmeto Roadrunner Records with the label describing Natal Cleft as “Some seriously evil shit from the Philippines“. They have been featured in international TV networks, magazines, radio and web stations and have even gained praise some notable metal names including:
Karl Sanders from Nile: “Very cool and unique. Loved it. Keep up the great brutal work my friend. I am looking forward to hearing more of your amazing brutality.”
Former Cradle Of Filth guitarist Paul Allender: “Great tunes and the world needs to hear you guys”.
Philippe Tyrant Boucher, drummer for Beyond Creation: “Sick stuff!”
Natal Cleft’s full length album entitled “Particles of Hate” will be released later this year. Stay tuned for more news!
