The Magic Numbers set to tour Australia this week, support acts announced

UK indie royalty The Magic Numbers are pleased to announce the Australian supports for their first tour since their 2010 Splendour in the Grass appearance and 2006 Big Day Out tour. The four-piece comprising two pairs of brothers and Sisters (Romeo and Michele Stodart, Sean and Angela Gannon) are known for their unique harmonies, melodic hooks, songwriting craftsmanship and timeless sound.

Adding Jaguar Jonze in Brisbane, BATTS & Nat Vazer in Melbourne, Letter to Lions &St Joan in Sydney, Subtract- s in Adelaide and Simone & Girfunkle in Perth, the tour, now less than a month out is onto it’s final tickets.

The Magic Numbers quickly shot to media attention after selling out London’s Kentish Town Forum solely on the strength of their loyal live following, before the release of their self-titled 2005 Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album. The Magic Numbers went on to become one of the UK’s best-loved bands and have toured around the world with the likes of Brian Wilson, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, The Who, Morrissey, U2 and Bright Eyes.

As well as five successful albums including 2018’s set Outsiders, The Magic Numbers have collaborated with a number of artists, lending their trademark sound and harmonies to the likes of Ed Harcourt, Chemical Brothers, The Divine Comedy, Duke Specialand David Kitt.

The band will visit four states (many for the first time in over a decade), kicking off their tour in Brisbane on March 21 before winding their way across the country through Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
