The Omnific announce new EP ‘The Mind’s Eye’, drop new videoclip & announce EP release tour

The Omnific

Two-Bass Guitar outfit The Omnific are an unstoppable juggernaut! Young, eager and already extremely accomplished, the trio are today announcing the imminent release of their new EP ‘The Mind’s Eye‘ on Friday May 10th. The new EP will be available for Pre-Order at all good online outlets and streaming platforms from Friday March 29.

To celebrate the EP, they are kicking it off with a video for recently-released single ‘The Stoic‘, filmed at their shows supporting Australian prog-metal legends COG in early 2019. Bassist Matt Fackrell said that the band were “…thrilled to have been able to capture our entire first tour as The Omnific on camera. COG’s “Drawn Together” tour brought us moments that we’ll never forget. We are so thankful to all the fans who turned up early to these shows and contributed to all of these experiences.

Not to be slouches, they are also today announcing their EP release tour, which features not only headline shows in Canberra, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, but a huge Australian tour alongside the voices of The Song Company, which takes their epic prog ‘n’ bass sound and adds a choral voice – and puts them into halls and cathedrals in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, North Sydney, Wollongong, Berry and Perth.

Fackrell went on to say, “It’s thrilling and exciting to take The Mind’s Eye EP on the road for an extended period of time around Australia, and thanks to The Song Company for presenting us with the opportunity to experiment with the human voice. It provides a challenge, and a whole new horizon of music that we can create and perform.”

The Song Company says of their collaborative tour – “This is a collaboration across genres with a uniting interest in the deep resonances of vocal cords, struck strings, and powerful harmonies. A cluster of rising stars from Melbourne, The Omnific has already made a name for their unique rhythmic interplay and wordless metallic fantasias. The Omnific’s two five-string bass guitarists’ classic duo Kismet and other works are interleaved with multi-voice chanting and improvisation from the male voices of The Song Company in music from Magister Pérotin’s masterpiece Viderunt omnes and its late 12th-century inspirations, echoed by a high soprano in his most haunting of songs, Beata viscera.”

‘The Mind’s Eye’ varies in themes through-out the whole EP, from dark and heavy, to uplifting ballads. So far from this EP, The Omnific released the singles ‘Erin’ and ‘The Stoic’, both of which received playlist adds to the international Spotify playlist ‘Instrumental Madness’, Radio play on triple j, rotation on The Faction and love from massive international media outlets such as Everything is Noise and Louder Sound/Prog.

The new EP ‘The Mind’s Eye’ was written by The Omnific, Produced by Forrester Savell & The Omnific, Bass Engineered by Toby Peterson-Stewart, Drums Engineered by Forrester Savell and Luke Palmer (Dead Letter Circus), Mixed & Mastered by Forrester Savell, Additional Programming by Jamie Marinos, Forrester Savell & Josh Saunders – and the visceral artwork is by Raining Brains.
