The Rockpit launches new podcast The Heaven & Hell Show

The Heaven & Hell Show

The Rockpit is celebrating 10 years as an online rock and metal music media publication in 2019 and to help celebrate the anniversary, a brand new podcast show has been launched titled The Heaven & Hell Show” featuring all new rock, metal and blues music, discussions, interviews and more.

Launched as an extension of The Rockpit’s online media publication, The Heaven & Hell Show continues the company’s focus on guitar oriented music from the underground and local scene along with the usual big hitters in the music world. The show is presented by members of the Rockpit team and is split into 2 segments – Heaven representing the melodic hard rock and blues side and Hell showcasing the more heavier side of music.

Senior editor at The Rockpit Mark Diggins says it’s a great way to kick off the 10th anniversary of the company which he formed back in 2009. “It’s a great milestone to be able to reach 10 years doing what we love and what better way to start the 10th year than by adding another feature like a podcast to our ever expanding business. It gives us the chance to showcase some of the great music we receive with our reviews and interviews and such through our website but actually giving our readers the chance to listen to some of these tracks and hear our enthusiasm for them is just another platform to help promote good music. I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed in the first ten years of the site but most of all I’d like to thank Andrew who gave things a whole new lease of life when he joined the team and in doing so re-inspired me to do more. Believe me 2019 is going to be the biggest year so far.

General Manager at The Rockpit Andrew Massie agrees: “In this day and age when traditional radio is slowly becoming the way of physical CD’s and Magazines, it just makes sense to utilise the podcast platform as a viable way of giving some of these bands we love and discover, the attention they deserve. We plan on really pushing our show out to as many listeners as possible in the same way we do with our main website platform, plus it’s so much fun to put these shows together!

The show will initially start out as a monthly episode before the team decides based on interest whether to expand to a more regular feature. The first episode is now available and can be directly streamed at therockpit.net/podcast or you can download the Podbean app via Google Play or the Apple Store. Search for “The Heaven & Hell Show” or “The Rockpit” after installation on your mobile device.

The Rockpit first started as an independent online magazine in 2009 initially as a way to fill the gap in music reporting where a lot of the music they loved was either ignored or heavily genre based. Over the first few years of existence The Rockpit grew from a site that attracted a few thousand of the curious to literally thousands of new readers every day. As of 2019 The Rockpit receives on average around 300,000 readers per month with a global reach from Australia to North America, the UK and Europe and more recently to Asia and South Africa. In recent years the company launched Rockpit Records as an independent label and online music store as well as an artist management and promotion business.

The 10 year celebrations will continue into the year as more announcements will be made. Stay tuned!
