The Tea Party share new single “Way Way Down”

The Tea Party

The Tea Party have announced details of their new single Way Way Down, just ahead of their anticipated Black River tour of Australia later this month. Way Way Down is available at all DSPs here.

The Tea Party have just completed the most extensive North American tour of their career; a total of 45 shows, with more than a quarter of them sold out.  The band are set to head to Australia for 9 dates, beginning in San Remo, VIC on June 19. The Way Way Down live video, captured over two sold out nights at Vancouver’s iconic Commodore Ballroom, will be released later this June. All of this is leading up to the Black River EP, which will be released later in 2019, taking The Tea Party into 2020 – which marks their thirtieth year as a band.

Bass and Keyboardist, Stuart Chatwood, had the following to say about the band’s return to Australia – where they have toured more than 20 times now: “The band is thrilled to return to our second home of Australia to play some intense smaller rock and roll shows for the best audiences in the world.  We’re firing on all cylinders after hitting close to 50 cities on the North American run.  We’re excited to finally play some new music from our Black River EP for our Aussie friends. The new songs harken back to our roots and they are a blast to play live.

How far down must you go in order to understand and appreciate the will to ascend and be something better, something more than you knew yourself to be.. our psyche is a labyrinth that is and will always be a mystery.. metaphors, parables, myths and masks will always twist and turn us around… but maybe, just for once, something might make the light shine, even for just a glimpse of what could be…” – Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, on the band’s new single, Way Way Down.

With a career spanning over twenty years and nine major-label releases, The Tea Party, composed of Jeff Martin, Jeff Burrows, and Stuart Chatwood, have successfully gained the attention of fans on a worldwide level. In addition to selling over 1.8 million records worldwide, they have toured a countless number of times throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia. Much of the band’s success can be attributed to their larger-than-life stage presence.
