Abramelin - Never Enough Snuff

Abramelin, the Melbourne death /gore merchants really need no introduction. For anyone who has been following this band know that the latest release “Never Enough Snuff” is most likely the injection of vitality that the Australian Heavy scene has been waiting for, in my humble opinion fans and metalheads alike have been “champing at the bit” to hear this album and it doesn’t disappoint in anyway.

The follow up to the 2000 album “Dead Speak”, right off the bat you can feel the intensity of this beast with the groove laden title track. From that point onwards the album is a frantic whirlwind of horror inspired death/ thrash mastery this album is what I like to call a “grower”, it will take a few spins to fully absorb the chaos.

The track “Play With Your Prey” has a real old school vibe running with break neck riffs and a punishing vocal delivery further proving that the album really has no low points to speak of. As I said before it’s non stop and not for the faint hearted with personal favorites here include “Knife Play” and “The Peeler”, in a word – NASTY!

There is a good reason why Abramelin are held in such high esteem within the Australian metal scene and this slab of brutality just further cements the bands undying finally honed craft. I for one can’t wait to see this played live, I’ll be heading straight for the front barricade, who’s with me!?

10/10
