ALBUM REVIEW: Electric Guitars – 10 Songs 10 Cities

Mighty Music - December 6th 2019

If you’ve not yet fallen for the charms of Denmark’s ‘Electric Guitars’ then this might just be the album to push you over the edge. Taking the best of their back catalogue as well as some new numbers  and recording ten of those songs in ten different cities is a rather fine hello to new fans and a nice spin on the live album to those of us already in the know.

Meant to be played loud, this is an upbeat album full of great Rock and Roll and opener ‘Rock N’ Roll Radio’ really lays out the stall – if you love that then this is certainly an album for you. Best of the rest? That’s a tough call as nothing here disappoints.

Best of all might be that opener, or it might be the wonderful Arena-style rock of ‘False Flag Operation’ that follows, it could also be ‘Lucy Glow’ the crunching number that follows that opening pair. What I’m getting at is that this is all great stuff and  add to that the melodic ‘Swagman’, the rocking ‘Running Out of Time’ and the quirky ‘The Thinner The Eyebrow The Crazier The Woman’ and you have it all.

If you love your rock driven by the guitar then Søren Andersen and Mika Vandborg’s Electric Guitars is a band that takes tat as their starting point and the fact that both are exceptional guitarists makes this a very enjoyable ride.
