The Excessive Pack is Back…..in the Metal City
Striking opening track! Raw energetic metal. No time to think, just headbang! Turn it up looooud to go nuts with Raven! Rock Until You Drop” was the debut thrash album of these Englishmen that still got it , almost 40 years later. The first track just sets the bar for the upcoming songs and the fans know they will love it. It’s different from the debut album, it’s no sell out in an age of sell outs and it’s better than “Extermination”! No “getting old” problem for the Gallagher brothers.
It was “The river of no return” and that meant “going once more to the speed and thrash extreme”! Who wouldn’t want to be on the top of the metal mountain, while Heller’s drumming sounds like he was in the band and not recently joined?
“You’ve got to climb to the top of the mountain”- John screams. And it’s a call to those who are still young in metal, in life, in being fanatics of the rhythm that takes you to headbang till you can’t move anymore! You’re in the Metal City! No need to be commercial, no need to impress, just put on your denim, leather and stay hard-they used to say!
Well, you’re hard again, waving the flag of metal in a time where bands like Raven are what we want to keep it alive! If you feel that life’s a bitch and you are deluded with the human race, then go listen to the “Human Race”, another crazy wild track from the city of Metal!
Who says you can’t have an album favorite ? Mine is the melodic guitar licks of “Metal City”! It’s the song you will play over and over again, the one you will sing at their concert, the war cry “you will never tear us down”!
N’ hail to Heller again, for that fantastic drumming! The “stereo panning” effect will make you feel the burn even more, as all you will think about will be joining them on their live dates….
Superheroes, yes, that’s how the cover album is! N’you can get it on vinyl, you old school bangers! Or the new generation, ready to rock, on cd and digital platform! Out since mid-september. No time to hesitate, time to unleash ur beast!
The three musketeers’ battle goes on with their loudness conquest, as you listen to the album and already feel like buying the ticket, to raise ur hands to the sky, in the Raven wildnerness brotherhood of metal!
These Newcastle dudes will remind you of the Godfather of speed, Lemmy, as you listen to “Motorheadin’ “ and Taylor’s drums are filtered in Heller’s brilliant performance. “Not so easy” to resist to Raven’s music without having ur back hurt, your head spin, while you might not be a singer but who cares….it’s Rock N’Roll ! The circus of thrash is differently coloured in 2020, credits to these living legends of speed.
Drippin’ with energy, you don’t want it to end but the album’s only the worldwide salute to blast your speakers! The closure is only something to slow down the body moves….not that slow though, just a bit of a break, before the lads restart it, on tour……
Far East, Europe, America, Australia….basically everywhere we can”—they say, as 2020 fades away and 2021 waits for the hungry fans of classic thrash, now into the modern age, still in leather, still having the Love for Rock N’Roll lead their lives to extreme speed!
