Ebonivory & Glass Ocean team up for The After Dark Tour this February/March

Glass Ocean

One of the fastest rising acts of the burgeoning Australian progressive music scene, Ballarat’s Ebonivory are teaming up one of the scenes most prominent bands,  Sydney’s Glass Ocean this February and March for a co-headline tour.

The last twelve months have seen Ebonivory rise through the Progressive ranks to be a commanding live act. A whirlwind performance at Australia’s acclaimed PROGFEST festival, alongside international heavyweights The Ocean (Germany), Monuments (UK) and Skyharbor (India/USA) kicked off 2019 in a big way for the guys. They then went on to support alt-rock powerhouse Dead Letter Circus and traversed the country with progressive rock juggernaut Circles for The Winter Tour.

The bands singles Patting the Black Dog and Tales Of Termina landed coverage with PROG Magazine (UK), Triple J’s “The Racket”, Spotify’s “Homegrown + Heavy” Playlist, and Rage.

In May, Ebonivory will be heading to the US and Canada with arguably Australia’s finest prog rock outfit, Caligula’s Horse for an epic 26 date tour!

Ebonivory create an engaging mosaic of raw emotion, complex rhythmic devices, and prismatic melody. Formed in 2014 by prodigious composer, multi-instrumentalist and lead vocalist Charlie Powlett, this world class 5-piece ensemble employs a unique distillation of alternative rock, progressive metal, post-hardcore and modern punk, delivering a breathtaking performance that unifies musicians, melomaniacs, and casual listeners alike. They have built a reputation as an act that consistently delivers music that grows in ambition and scale with each release.

Powlett says of teaming up with Glass Ocean; ‘”We’re extremely excited to be touring with our friends in Glass Ocean; they were a strong influence of mine several years ago that restored my faith in making my particular brand of unique music and have owned the stage every time I’ve seen them perform. This will be our final run of shows in Australia before we journey over to North America for the first time in May, so make sure you’re there to witness it!”

Ebonivory

Boasting maturity beyond their years, and earning a reputation as a must see live act with their modern take on late 90’s progressive pop sugar-coated with a subtle hint of pure and incorruptible sensuality, Glass Ocean are one of Australia’s most prominent up and coming acts.

The band have been locked away in the studio for the past two years completing their debut record with producer Chris Blancato (Northlane), and will be previewing new tracks from the new record for fans ahead of it’s 2020 release as well as crowd favourites.

Having released two critically acclaimed EP’s and a few impressive music videos including their clip for ‘Light Of The Moon’ clocking up over 80,000 views on YouTube, Glass Ocean have gone onto support high profile acts such as Wolfmother, Anathema (UK), Seether (South Africa), TesseracT (UK), The Ocean (Germany), Monuments (UK), Skyharbor (India/USA), Northlane, Sleepmakeswaves, Caligula’s Horse, & Closure In Moscow as well as appearing on Progfest 2019.

Glass Ocean’s frontman Tobias Atkins also recently performed a very intimate acoustic set on the Sydney leg of the Caligula’s Horse tour last year that left the audience speechless with his emotional power.

Atkins says of the tour with Ebonivory; ‘’Ebonivory are on their A-game and are completely unique in their style. They give the scene an injection of vibrance, colour and passion. Teaming up with these boys is a hot ticket. Two bands that will hold nothing back and give you an experience you won’t forget. I can’t wait to hit the road with them!’

Be sure to come and witness one of the best nights of Australian progressive music this year!
