Jinjer - Alive In Melbourne

JINJER Announces Alive In Melbourne Live Album, NACHTBLUT Release Second Single “Leierkinder”, THE UNGUIDED Reveal Video for New Track “Never Yield”, FEUERSCHWANZ Release Official Music Video For “Im Bauch des Wals”.

Ukrainian modern metal leaders JINJER have announced the official release of the audio recordings from one of the last metal shows played on the planet before the global Covid-19 lockdown: their ferocious sold out Melbourne, Australia performance on March 5, 2020.

Their newly announced upcoming live album, Alive In Melbourne features stunning artwork by gifted JINJER fan Gabriel Nicoletti, includes 17 tracks in total and will be released on November 20, 2020 via Napalm Records.

Commented the band: “Some shows just deserve to be carved in stone and memorialized forever. This was the case regarding our first ever Australian tour in March 2020, where we hit a few milestones all at once: we finally played on every continent there is to play on, our first time in down under was a complete sellout and more importantly we experienced the love, passion and craziness we’ve always heard so much about the Australian crowd. Hell, there were even fans from New Zealand that showed up to the party. Now, after nearly half year of lockdown I can barely watch this footage without shedding a few tears. If any of you knew how much time, patience, nerves and effort we put into making this live album possible- you would probably be surprised we managed to pull it off at all. Adversity kept coming and coming, and coming at us again and again but here we are : Alive in Melbourne 2020 is real and it’s coming out in all it’s visual and sonic glory! Let’s watch it, listen to it and let’s remember how a real metal gig should look and sound: the sweat, the volume, the performance and the crowd … we need this feeling back! I am proud that we managed to capture this place in time and share it with you as our first official live album!”

Coinciding with the announcement, the band has also released a live video for their pummeling tech groove track “Teacher, Teacher!”, the opening song of the afore-mentioned show.

Alive In Melbourne is now available for pre-order from napalmrecords.com/jinjer and will be released in various lavish editions.

Nachtblut

German dark metal torchbearers NACHTBLUT unveil the second single “Leierkinder” (engl. Children Of The Lyre) along with an official video, off their upcoming full-length, Vanitas, to be released on October 2 via Napalm Records.

Starting off with an intoxicating, folk-influenced melody and an addictive rhythm, the new single  carries its listener to days of yore, while the dark lyrics create a cynical contrast that shapes the overall ambience. Lyrically, the song refers to a fictional village reigned by a god who dictates the citizen’s state of knowledge. Paired with the fleet-footed, folky main melody and Askeroth’s gloomy, invading vocals, the new single “Leierkinder” sends frightening shivers straight to everyone’s core!

NACHTBLUT on their new single: “We are more than proud to present our new song “Leierkinder”: the catchy melody and chorus features a driving force, that will cause a lot of energy in front and on stage. But there is more than just a happy melody, as the lyrics come with a deeper meaning. It’s about how you define happiness referred to your personal surroundings and experience. Another issue concerns our understanding of satisfaction and our perception of things, which is also controlled by significant outside influences.  Maybe you will take a pause and think about this… or not, but “jeder muss nach dem Liede tanzen, das gerade auf der Walze steht” (engl.: “everyone needs to dance to the tune on the roller”)“

A dark work of art between transience and infinity. The new album Vanitas draws the listener into the band’s musical maelstrom in a classifying NACHTBLUT manner: hard riffs, Askeroth’s incisive vocals, rousing melodies and profound, candid lyrics.

Songs like “Die Toten vergessen nicht” (engl. The Dead Don’t Forget) shine with an unmistakably dark and orchestral sound that will cause shivers to run down the listener’s spine, while the folk-influenced song “Leierkinder” (engl. Children Of The Lyre) convinces with an addictive rhythms and moving lyrics. With Vanitas, dark metal giants NACHTBLUT create a symbolic work of art somewhere between transience and infinity.

The Unguided

Swedish melodic death metal crusher THE UNGUIDED awaits with the successor of their latest offering and presents their second single, “Never Yield”, off their upcoming full-length, Father Shadow, to be released on October 9 via Napalm Records.

Along with a fantasy-inspired and rousing official lyric video, the four-piece presents a fast-paced banger that will pierce straight into your eardrums. A clean chorus exploding in deep, menacing shouts characterizes the new hard-hitting offering.

With their new full-length, these Nordic heavyweights prove that they can’t be pigeonholed. Eleven quick-tempered, high-voltage pieces indicate that THE UNGUIDED have liberated themselves from the shadows of the past but are still aware of their manifold roots. The intoxicating mixture of clean hooklines and powerful screams lead up to a unique symbiosis of pure harshness.

Convince yourself and watch “Never Yield”

With Father Shadow, THE UNGUIDED – comprised of the brothers and founders of SONIC SYNDICATE – break down the barriers between melodic death metal, metalcore and fitting electronic sounds. With brutal shouts, an unmistakably catchy chorus and a huge chunk of honest words, “Crown Prince Syndrome” unveils the burden of an innate identity. The perfect symbiosis of Richard Sjunnesson’s forceful vocal pitch and Jonathan Thorpenberg’s clean vocals convinces to the fullest extent. Tracks like the banger “Never Yield” and “War of Oceans” pierce straight into your eardrums. Let yourself be drawn into the deep, dark underbelly of “Stand Alone Complex”, capturing your mind with ruthlessly harsh drums. “Gaia”, featuring Erik Engstrand, marks a new chapter in the era of THE UNGUIDED: harder, faster but always on point. With heavy handed cover versions of their own classic SONIC SYNDICATE tracks “Jailbreak”, “Denied” and “Jack of Diamonds”, the four piece also thrives in reminiscence – and reveals a new musical entity. Follow THE UNGUIDED into the deep shadows of the past and the abyss of the future

THE UNGUIDED on the new album: “We started to work on the follow up to And the Battle Royale by the end of 2018 after the tour was done. I think that particular album was a lot about figuring out the band’s new identity and writing together after boarding a new member and undeniably it was well received. Father Shadow is all about taking that experience, refining the process and push it to the next level. We have grown together solidly as a band and I think it shows a lot on this album. The songwriters in the band all comes from different schools and write a bit differently musically, on this album everyone got equal airtime just to pump the diversity without losing the feel of the band. Lyrically it pushes the story and concept forward and finally ties up some ends that have been loose since Fragile Immortality (2014), something I think the hardcore fans will appreciate. It was also fun to go back and revisit those old SONIC SYNDICATE tracks for the bonus material and I think we managed to do our own thing to honor the songs with a mint 2020 production. Utterly we created the songs and album we’d love to listen to ourselves and we succeeded with that and hope you’ll like it as much as we do!”

Feurrschwanz

German medieval rock masters FEUERSCHWANZ have released the official music video for their song “Im Bauch des Wals” (english: In The Belly Of The Whale). The song comes off their brand new album Das Elfte Gebot which was released on June 26 and landed at #3 on the official German album charts, where it remained for 8 consecutive weeks.

Commented the band: “„Im Bauch des Wals“ is about a majestic sea creature who did not swallow biblical Jona, but rather so much man made plastic that it eventually dies and sinks into the ocean.
The ship that Hodi and Hauptmann discovered on their trip to England went aground just before Land’s End in 2003 on its way from Cork (Ireland) to Lübeck – with 2200 tons of plastic on board.
Ever since then it’s right there at the beach, moaning and groaning whenever the high waves hit – just like a stranded whale dying…We tried to capture the eerie and somehow mystical vibes of that place for you. A place where you go like: What kind of planet are we leaving to our descendants? One thing’s for sure: a whole lot of plastic waste.”

Das Elfte Gebot also includes the bonus cover album Die Sieben Todsünden (except for the CD Jewel Case Version) containing seven cover versions of songs not only by internationally acclaimed artists like Seeed and Ed Sheeran but also Rammstein, Powerwolf and Sabaton.
To celebrate the release, the band had performed an exclusive online open air at Burg Abenberg the same day. The recording can be viewed here.

Das Elfte Gebot is the successor to 2018’s Methämmer, which went straight to #6 of the German album charts.
