Burning Witches

BURNING WITCHES new single ‘Sea Of Lies’, SYLOSIS present the crushing new single ‘Calcified’, GOTTHARD announce new album “#13”, KORPIKLAANI unleash new digital single ‘Beer Kill Kill’, OCEANS launch official music video for new song ‘Hope’.

At the end of 2019, BURNING WITCHES promised the release of the first taster from their forthcoming album »Dance With The Devil,« which is due on March 6, 2020 via Nuclear Blast – and today the group has delivered in the form of the lead single ‘Sea Of Lies’!

Watch the accompanying visualizer video for the track HERE.

The quintet says, “We are delighted to present you our second single ‘Sea Of Lies’! In our humble opinion, the track mirrors the album really well. The old-school vibe, the heavy as hell approach and the growly yet very melodic moments showcase the evolved WITCHES of 2020! The lyrical content deals with very personal events that took place during 2019, when there was a lot of challenges around the band. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!”

The album was recorded at Swiss Little Creek Studio and produced once again by V.O. Pulver and German thrash titan Schmier. The magnificent cover artwork was created by Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák (BLIND GUARDIAN TWILIGHT ORCHESTRA, ACCEPT, POWERWOLF, STRATOVARIUS etc.) and DESTRUCTION/GOMORRA guitarist Damir Eskic.

Sylosis

SYLOSIS are set to release their 5th studio album, »Cycle Of Suffering,« on the 7th of February. Today the band have dropped the second single from the forthcoming record.

Watch and listen to ‘Calcified’ here.

The record was self produced and mixed by Josh Middleton with mastering by Ermin Hamidovic. The cover art is an original painting by Josh with the design and layout taken care of by Dan Goldsworthy.

Gotthard

Swiss rockers GOTTHARD have announced that their suitably titled 13th studio album, “#13”, will be released on March 13th on Nuclear Blast Records. To coincide with the announcement, the band have released a brand new music video for first single ‘Missteria’ which is available to watch now HERE.

Leo Leoni comments: “It´s been great fun writing a track with Francis again and with ‘Missteria’ I believe we delivered a real killer!”

You can pre-order “#13” on various formats now from: https://nblast.de/Gotthard-13

Amongst the usual straight up rock and roll that GOTTHARD are known for, “#13” offers remarkable variety between songs – such as the powerful opener ‘Bad News’, the fast hard’n’heavy ‘Every Time I Die’, the straight to the point lyrical message of ‘Man On A Mission‘, old-school blues-rock with ‘Another Last Time‘, epic Ballads like ‘I Can Say I’m Sorry‘ and unbridled 70’s psychedelia with ‘Rescue Me‘.

Aside from the obvious standout of the record, the cover of ABBA‘s world-famous Hit ‘SOS’, the first single ‘Missteria’ confidently displays the band’s passion for experimentation that is on show throughout “#13”. The eccentric track, that was written in collaboration with none other than Francis Rossi himself, combines an unmistakeable rock structure with flourishes of oriental instrumentation and is a perfect basis for the video, that was recorded at the Madi-Zelt in Berlin. Exotic mysticism, the sense of illusion and sensual dancers, that remind the watcher of Salma Hayek‘s legendary appearance in ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’, frame the band’s performance between velvet, deceptive mirrors, fog and fascinating LED-effects. An extremely opulent clip, matching the breathtaking first single.

Korpiklaani

Finnish Folk Metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI finally get some time to rest touring-wise before the band kicks off their 2020 concert cycle with two shows in Japan in the end of February, followed by many more shows around the globe. Reason enough for the sextet to at least start the new year properly in a musical way! Today, KORPIKLAANI are pleased to release another adaption of their hit song ‘Beer Beer.’

The newly launched lyric video for ‘Beer Kill Kill’ which features EXODUS vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nUSXCtoSio

“I was very excited, thrilled and honored to be asked and cannot wait to play this live with them! Trash ‘Beer Beer,’ time for ‘Kill Kill,’ EXODUS style.” – Zetro

Oceans

2020 is here – and Austrian-German post death metallers OCEANS start the new year with a bang and unleash their debut album »The Sun And The Cold,« via Nuclear Blast today. To celebrate, the quartet has launched a music video for their track ‘Hope’ which can be viewed here.

Singer/guitarist Timo Rotten comments: “We’ve been working on this album for more than three years now and it feels just unreal to see it finally come to the light of day. The reviews have been absolutely incredible so far and we are just thankful to everyone who has participated in this hellride of an album. Next up: tearing Europe apart on the »Renegades« tour together with EQUILIBRIUM, LORD OF THE LOST and NAILED TO OBSCURITY. We’re just getting started.”

He adds on the new song/video: “We have put ourselves up to the task to end the stigma of mental illness. And the first step for everyone who is suffering from this horrible disease is to reach out and let people know they are ill. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to hide. No one is ashamed of having a cold either, right? So to everyone who gets out of bed everyday fighting the fight of the wicked: kudos to you! You’re a warrior. And we want to make sure you never lose hope.”
