NYC collective Brass Against are set to embark on their very first east coast tour next month!
In this politically challenging era, it’s time to stand up against the machine!
Brass Against are a collective of some of New York City’s top musicians, who have come together to form a unique brass band that combines rock and edgy hip-hop to create music that is both powerful and empowering.
Founded by Brad Hammonds, the band plays protest songs and other anthems from Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Deftones, and Tool amongst others.
Hammonds says of the current state of the world “We’re in such a precarious place here in the US and in large parts around the globe. We have essentially an autocrat in charge here pushing isolationist policies. Not to mention believes climate change, our biggest threat as a society is a hoax. We need Rage Against the Machine and other protest bands more now than ever and need to do what we can to push back. Music is a great place to come start”
Brass Against is exceptional music with a political edge.
They are angry, they are inspired, they are ready for change — and they hope their music amplifies this energy in everyone who listens.
In Sydney, the evening will kick off with a set from the DJ’s from AM/PM who will run Sydney’s biggest rock/alt/punk nights so you know their playlist is going to kill!
In Melbourne, it will be DJ Boffatron who will get the evening off to a high energy start. Anyone who’s seen her spin at Cherry, Bang or Wah Wah will know what to expect!
In Brisbane, you’ll have to wait and see! It’s time to Brass Against!
