Johannesburg based rock power trio Oooth, led by renowned drummer and musician Jason Oosthuizen have unveiled the video for their track Gotta Give It Up. The track is taken from their 2019 album Keeping it Casual.

“Gotta Give It Up was written a long time ago when one morning I woke up hungover as can be and in someone I don’t knows house. I was walking around this house trying to find a way out so I could find a landmark in order to find my way back to my hotel. On the way while walking I kept repeating in my head ” I gotta give it up I gotta give it up this time”  The song is just really about reaching the point where you need to give something up in order to move forward in life, I think we all get there at some or other time. This song was pretty easy as it all just fell into place.” Explains Jason on the origins of the song.

Jason is largely known for being a member of locally celebrated bands, Van Coke Cartel and Lost&Found, as well as the creator of several classic rock and other tribute bands. In September 2018, he decided to broaden his musical horizons to singer/songwriter position by replacing the drumsticks with an electric guitar and mic as the frontman for Oooth.

Oooth’s debut single and music video, Hands Under The Table released in September 2018 followed by their debut album Who Cares What You Think in the November 2018. Jason has written, recorded and produced most aspects of the project himself and perform and performs live with a full band.

In July 2018, Jason launched his own signature drum range, entitled J.O Drums. The drums are the first of its kind in Africa where everything besides the skins on it, have been made from scratch in one place.

Following on from the Oooth brand, he has launched his own apparel line named Oooth Clothing, several items are available for purchase with the brand growing constantly. Since July 2018 he has also launched 2 of 4 blends of his signature coffee brand, Oooth Coffee available for purchase nationwide.
