Parkway Drive have announced that their new film Viva The Underdogs, will be available for rent and purchase via Amazon, iTunes, Google or Vimeo from April 24.

The film follows the Byron Bay band’s 15-year journey to become international headliners on the world’s biggest metal music festivals. It also includes most of the band’s Wacken Open Air headlining set; a chaotic explosion of heavy music, pyrotechnics and suspense.

It’s release into home cinemas is set to be more appreciated than initially imagined, in light of international isolation measures. It’s been weeks since music fans have been allowed to congregate, let alone dive anonymously into a moshpit of thousands of sweaty strangers. The astonishing crowds on display in Viva The Underdogs devastatingly defy our current realities.

Self-funded, self-managed and committing to over 100 tour stops, in Viva The Underdogs, Parkway Drive recruit 40-plus crew members and fill six semi-trailers with cutting edge audio visual equipment and pyrotechnics. But is it enough to earn their spot at the top of the world’s biggest rock festivals?

Packed with a decade’s worth of behind the scenes personal footage and unprecedented access to the behind the scenes of their explosive live shows and festival appearances, Viva The Underdogs offers a candid look at Parkway Drive’s journey and all the good times, battles, triumphs and sacrifices they make as they take on the music industry.
