Red Circle featuring guitarist Zakk Zedras of Chocolate Starfish release debut album eighteen years after recording

Red Circle

Chocolate Starfish guitarist Zakk Zedras is a man of many hidden talents.  His first taste of live music was with the band Serpentine Sky (formerly Serpentine) who collected a huge following between 1989 & 1992 up & down the east coast of Australia.  Serpentine Sky finally reformed with the original line-up to record & release an album back in 2017, which The Rockpit had the pleasure of previously discussing with Zakk.

Another of his projects, Red Circle who were performing between 1999 & 2004 allowed Zedras to stride forward to exercise his vocal talents as well as continue to shine as a guitarist.  Now, after eighteen long years, their one and only album ‘All We Are’ is available for all to hear, as it has finally made its way across all digital platforms.  Joining Zedras in the trio were Clint Quan (bass & vocals) & James Bunney (drums) and they managed to bed down to record the album at Melbourne’s Indent and Primal Studios during 2000 & 2001.

Zakk says, “From ‘99 through to ‘04, I was the singer/guitarist in a band called Red Circle. Along with my songwriting partner, bass player Clint Chin-Quan and drummer James Bunney.  We recorded an album for British label ‘Now and Then’.  We never got to release the album as the label folded and the band broke up shortly after.  Today I’m happy to say it’s finally getting it’s much deserved release on all digital platforms, we’re still very proud of it”.

The Rockpit Podcast Episode #20 will feature Zakk Zedras this month as we discuss Red Circle and play a track of Zakk’s choice.
