The Swamp Stompers are heading out on tour over March and April to fundraise for their Europe Tour coming up in May 2020. The band will be playing 12 shows across NSW, QLD and ACT from Friday 6th March to Saturday 4th April. This tour will see the band visit regional towns and major cities including Kiama, Ulladulla, Byron Bay, Goodna, Brisbane, Upper Lansdowne, Port Stephens, Merimbula, Narooma, Wollongong, Canberra and Tumut.
Formed by members on both the South and North Coast of NSW, The Swamp Stompers play their own irresistible brand of funky rock and blues with heavy grooves. They have spent 7 years crafting a unique original sound that may be the musical lovechild of the John Butler Trio, Led Zeppelin, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Three-part harmonies, catchy guitar riffs, and mind blowing didgeridoo soundscapes set this original blues-rock power trio apart from the pack.
In recent times The Swamp Stompers have stomped their mark on prominent Australian music festivals including Queenscliff Music Festival (VIC), Caloundra Music Festival (QLD) and Blues at Bridgetown (WA), with their high-energy live performances leaving punters and peers in complete awe.
The band’s fourth EP ‘Shadows on the Wall’ was released in September 2018, with the title track receiving regular Triple J airplay and an impressive 4.5/5 star review from Triple J. The ‘Shadows on the Wall’ EP peaked at #8 on the Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Chart and landed at #8 on the AMRAP Regional Community Radio Chart in October 2018.
2020 is going to be a huge year for The Swamp Stompers who will be taking on their first international shows in addition to a busy national touring schedule! They’ll be flying over to Europe in May and playing over a dozen shows in The Netherlands and Germany. Picking up the sticks for The Swamp Stompers on the Europe tour, will be Luke Ligtenberg’s Dutch cousin from the Netherlands, Vincent Ligtenberg.
