The search for WA’s best song draws one step closer as we reveal the impressive pool of nominees for the 2020 Song of the Year competition presented by Act-Belong-Commit.

With over 1,100 entries from across the state, this year’s nominees include an exciting mix of emerging and established artists across all genres, ages, levels and backgrounds (check out the full list below!).

The annual Song of the Year Awards Party takes a new and exciting turn this year – live and online! The winners will be announced during the jam-packed special event, streamed for free on WAM’s Facebook page on Wednesday 29th July 2020. Hosted by the sensational MC Odette Mercy, the virtual party will feature appearances from some of WA’s most notable music faces, plus exclusive performances from select nominees.

Following careful consideration and evaluation from a panel of Industry judges, this year’s nominees include an exciting mix of emerging and established artists across all genres, ages, levels and backgrounds (check out the full list below!). The talent throughout WA’s regions shines bright this year, with regional songwriters nominated in 13 of the 17 categories. 2020 also sees a year of multi-nominated songwriters, with three nominations for Jack Davies and The Bush Chooks and Indigo Ellis, and two apiece for Bolt Gun, MissGenius, Sydnee Carter, Brandon Poletti, Jamahl Ryder, Carla Geneve, Tracey Barnett, Noah Dillon, Maddie Mian, Siobhan Cotchin, Kate Pass Kohesia Ensemble, XIII and The Little Lord Street Band.
