‘A ROCK AND ROLL LIFE’ INTERVIEW #3 with Jim Peternik (World , The Ides of March, Survivor)

Jim Peterik might be best known to Rock fans as the driving force behind the band Survivor, writing the classic theme to Rocky III ‘Eye of the Tiger’ which won him a Grammy, but as a writer and performer he’s done so much more and continues to do so.  We talk to Jim about the early days, listen to the first song he ever wrote, take in his connection with .38 Special and talk about The Ides of March where he had his first huge hit with ‘Vehicle.’ Fast forward to 2021 and the latest World Stage Project ‘Tigress’ where he has gathered together some of Rock’s finest female voices to produce a stunning new record.

Did we mention the songs he penned with Sammy Hagar, Aerosmith and so many more or the wonderful music he’s still releasing as Pride of Lions? Take a listen as Mark and Jim chat about it all –  correct an erroneous Wikipedia entry and dissect what makes a great song. The third of our ‘A Rock and Roll Life’ interviews features Illinois’ finest – Jim Peterik.
