Adelaide power trio Feed The Fire are set to release their long awaited debut LP “Maybe You Need This?!” on February 26!!
The album contains 13 tracks and covers a wide range of styles from gritty kick in the teeth punky anthems through to soaring piano driven ballads and stripped back acoustic numbers. All the while reminding the listener that at its core, Feed The Fire are a heart on their sleeves high energy, live rock n roll band.
The album was recorded and mixed at Adelaide’s “Against The Grain Studios” by renowned Adelaide rock and metal producer Andy Kite.
Lyrically the album is unashamedly about the unexpected and drawn out ending of a 10-year relationship. “There are songs about love and loss, anger and frustration coupled with songs of hope and understanding and the ability to see light in the dark and beauty in the pain.” Says lead singer and guitarist Dan Devilchid Pearce. “I definitely bare my soul on this one. It’s all there in black and white with no cryptic clues about how I was feeling and dealing with it all.”
There have been four singles released from the album with the first track and video “Haunted House” kicking things off in March of last year promptly followed up by the songs “Scream Again” and “Cold Fire”. Their latest single “DOA” was released in November and the video for it came not long after.
“It definitely feels like we’ve gained a bit of traction off the back of the “DOA” release” says Dan.
We have had great feedback from other artists both in and out of our local scene. We have been featured on “The Faction” new music hour on the same night as some massive names. We’ve also received airplay from as far away as Long Island New York”.
Whether it is the track itself, the video, or the fact that Feed The Fire are always keeping busy with promoting themselves, it seems people are starting to take notice.
“At the end of the day, we are just three guys making and playing the music that we have a love of and a need to do. We work hard at all the aspects of being a band. Whether it be the writing process, getting better at our instruments or the promotion side of it. If people can see that work ethic and honesty in the music we’re writing I think it goes a long way to having people like what we’re doing and we are excited to see what people’s reactions will be to the rest of the album”.
The album goes live on Friday February 26 on all major streaming platforms and is available for pre order now.
The official album launch will be taking place on April 3rd at Port Noarlunga Football Club in South Australia.
