GUS G. made a name for himself with Firewind, the band he initially launched as a solo project in 1998 that made its official debut in 2002. In that time the band has released nine albums, while Gus has also recorded and toured with Mystic Prophecy, Nightrage, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil and Ozzy Osbourne. He has also made inroads as a solo artist, having released three albums under his own name: I Am The Fire (2014), Brand New Revolution (2015), and Fearless (2018). He closes 2021 with a new instrumental solo effort, Quantum Leap, featuring 10 tracks that both showcase the playing style Gus is known for and takes fans into new territory.
Quantum Leap came together over the course of the worldwide pandemic that, unfortunately, prevented Firewind’s self-titled album from 2020 from gaining any real momentum. Immobilized by the quarantine measures that kept him at home, Gus began compiling musical ideas to keep himself occupied, which led to the full-on effort to write and record an album during the summer of 2021
“I didn’t make Quantum Leap with the intention of it being the next one in the cycle of solo albums,” Gus admits. “It was more of a case of, ‘What else is there?’ I needed the creative outlet.”
A creative outlet was found – and a new track was created: “Enigma Of Life”. The instrumental impressively shows off Gus G.’s talent and the diversity of guitar instrumentals: Watch here: https://youtu.be/8xvN93PqPVM
It is not too often that the names of those who are involved, are enough to document the importance of a new project. DATOG, short for DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG, consists of Accept / UDO / Dirkschneider frontman Udo Dirkschneider and his long-time companions Peter Baltes (bass; Ex-Accept), Stefan Kaufmann (guitar; Ex-Accept, UDO) and Mathias Dieth (guitar; Sinner, UDO) as well as Udo’s son Sven Dirkschneider (drums; UDO, Dirkschneider) and singer Manuela Bibert.
Musically, the new project is in the tradition of its legendary predecessors. Fridays release “Arising”, is the best proof that the musicians have not forgotten anything over the last years.
The EP will be released as a 12″-vinyl and download.
“It was great fun creating new music with my old companions,” says Stefan Kaufmann. “Adding the influences of two young musicians to this was a completely new and great experience for me. And the fact that we were able to win Mathias for the project is the icing on the cake for me.”
Two years since their latest, vicious Afterburner- album, India’s heavy metal force Kryptosreturns to invoke the ultimate sound of denim and leather with the release of their sixth studio album! Force Of Danger will be out on October 1.
The band, who formed in 1998 in Bangalore, have long been considered as one of the spearheads of the Indian heavy metal revolution. With five critically acclaimed albums under their belt, they have supported some of metal’s biggest names like Iron Maiden, Testament, Kreator, Exodus, Death Angel and many more, earning themselves a reputation as a fiery and exciting live act.
After previously- released singles, the crushing album title track and just recently “Raging Steel” (listen HERE!), today the band shared another blistering appetizer for their upcoming album!
“It’s time to burn rubber! City lights and neon nights is the name of the game, so get into cruise control and blaze through the streets with “Hot Wired” – the third single off Force of Danger,” KRYPTOS frontman Nolan Lewis comments.
“Check out the scorching new Kryptos video for “Hot Wired” that brings back killer memories from when we were ripping it up on the road in Europe and burning through the countryside spreading righteous heavy metal in our wake. Nothing beats touring and partying with all you amazing headbangers, so this goes out to metalheads everywhere – keep the fire burning!”

Great events are often foreshadowed: Following their 2020 lead track ‘Sünder’, supported by an atmospherically sinister lyric video, and the lead single ‘Gottmaschine’ in May 2021 (also supported by a spectacular clip) – both releases highly popular on the Internet for weeks –, Göttingen’s NDH act STAHLMANN is set to announce the release of its latest single „Krähen der Nacht”. The new single drops incl. music video and starts parallel to album pre-sale of „QUARTZ”.
“Our fans may look forward to a thoroughly accomplished release with every NDH fan getting their money`s worth,” promises frontman Mart.
Band members Mart (vocals, programming), Mario (guitar), Emu (bass) and Tacki (drums) have recorded ten new songs.

QUARZ was produced by Martin Soer and mixed and mastered by renowned sound engineer Frank Gryner (Rob Zombie, Andrew W.K., A Perfect Circle) at his God Complex production studio in Ontario, Canada. Referring to the stylistic direction of Stahlmann’s latest offering, Mart has already revealed: “We’ve deliberately returned to our roots this time to revive the old-school NDH directives of our first three albums. Naturally, these influences have been combined with current, contemporary ideas. The result is a balanced, well-rounded album, catchy but still with all the raw edges Stahlmann is known for.”
