Nesher release second single & video ‘Fabulist Colonists’

Nesher

The 2019-2020 bushfire season in Australia was one of utter devastation. Known as the “Black Summer”, an estimated 18.6 million hectares of land were destroyed, over were 5,000 buildings razed to the ground and upwards of 3 Billion animals perished. 34 people tragically lost their lives.

While there were protests across the nation over the lack of political action in the face of ecological catastrophe, as well as the perceived lack of response and accountability to the damage caused, subsequent years have exposed a nation quick to forget how their leaders abandoned them when they were needed most, caught up in a cyclical nature of selective slacktivism and navel-gazing, trend-hopping social justice.

This song ‘Fabulist Colonists‘ takes aim at those who use disasters for their own political and social advantage while reminding those listening why there are still means to be furious at those who have the power to change the course of events.

Embrace the fire.

Roaring off of the east coast of Australia comes NESHER, Australia’s latest heavy outfit featuring some of the most respected members of the Aussie metal scene. Taking their name from the Hebrew translation of ‘Vulture’, NESHER seeks to capture the sense of menace and majesty embodied by the creature within their sound, whilst raging into the injustices they see around them.

The group was birthed when Alex Wilson, known elsewhere for his work in the ARIA nominated and internationally celebrated progressive outfit sleepmakeswaves, decided the extreme metal riffs he was always writing needed a home. The recruitment of veteran vocalist Sam Dillon (Lo!, Hadal Maw) and session drummer/music journalist Al Belling brought the project to life, the three combining their collective influences and love of concise composition to create Nesher.
