NEW MUSIC: Australian stalwarts of fuzz and stoner rock, Giant Dwarf, release new single “TV Witch”

Australian stalwarts of fuzz and stoner rock, Giant Dwarf, released their new single TV WITCH.

The highly anticipated release comes two years after their self-titled debut album garnered over 40,000 streams in just one month via Stoned Meadow of Doom, with the band signing to Sound Effect Records (Greece).

Off the back of their 2019 debut, Giant Dwarf supported international heavyweights of stoner rock 1000mods (Greece). A single from their album, titled REPEAT AFTER DEFEAT, also featured as the opening track on a Metal Hammer compilation that moved 10,000 copies across Europe.

In 2020 the band played support slots for international genre-defining acts Truckfighters (Sweden)Yawning Man (USA) and Corrosion of Conformity (USA). Due to COVID-19, a gig supporting Stoned Jesus (Ukraine) and Somali Yacht Club (Ukraine), has been rescheduled, along with an appearance at Brisbane’s Mojo Burning Festival, and an 8-show eastern states tour. Giant Dwarf’s song BLACK THUMB was also nominated in the Heavy category for Western Australian Music’s (WAM) 2020 Song of the Year Awards.

This year has seen Giant Dwarf tearing up the stage in their hometown, including at Australia’s longest running arts and cultural festival – Perth Festival, while they continue to work on their second album.

While the album won’t drop until 2022, Giant Dwarf will celebrate the release of TV WITCH on Saturday 25 September with a single launch at Perth’s favorite Convenients store. They will be joined by roadtrippin’ riff mavens Death By Carrot (QLD), Fiona Horne’s (formerly of Def FX) newly minted Seawitch, and stoner doom metal duo Ohm Rune
