Patient Sixty-Seven return to the fray with a ‘Damage Plan’

Patient Sixty Seven

In 2021’s Music industry, work ethic is everything. Perth’s Patient Sixty-Seven‘s mantra since day one has always been: Heavy music with meaning – and today they bring just that!

Despite hailing from one of the most isolated cities in the world, the band’s heart, hard work and polished metalcore sound – has proven it’s more than just about where you’re from. Today they are revealing their latest single ‘Damage Plan.’ It will be released on Friday August 27th in all digital outlets and streaming platforms at https://music.patientsixtyseven.com.au/DamagePlan.

The last 12 months has seen the band amass millions of streams along with a dedicated and passionate fanbase – through word of mouth and a powerful and dedicated work ethic alone. A work ethic that has driven their DIY approach since day one – and served them well, even as shows came to a halt.

Vocalist Tom Kiely said that “Damage Plan is a song written about being at your lowest point. Feeling broken and hurt by the world around you, by those closest to you – and fighting back against the current. The song is an anthem as much as it is a cry for help.

We aimed to bottle the desperation felt by those who feel they can’t survive without pain, and channel it into aggression. The ultimate message in the song is about saying, enough is enough, I can’t take any more of the pain, abuse and heartache – I’m done. Whatever that looks like.

If that’s walking out on the person who is physically violent, the drug of choice that keeps you at its mercy, the person or vice that keeps you hostage – even at your lowest point you can find the strength to fight for a better life.”

Damage Plan was written by Tom Kiely and Rory Venville from the band, with additional composition by Bryce Kariger. Production was handled by Ryan Botha (Audax Studios) and Bryce Kariger – and it was Mixed and Mastered by Ryan Botha. The incredibly stylised Artwork for the single was created by Christopher Erb.

The past couple of years have seen Patient Sixty-Seven amass 4 million+ total streams on Spotify, including over 2 million within the last 12 months alone, and rack up impressive feats such as being featured as the cover artist for Homegrown & Heavy, playlist spots on New Core, New Metal Tracks, Metal Covers, New Blood & More on Spotify, placement on Apple Music playlists Breaking Hard Rock & Heaps Heavy, featured as Tidal playlist cover artist on Rising Metal and hit the radio waves with triple J play on Short Fast Loud + Rotation on triple J Unearthed for Stay Paranoid.

Patient Sixty-Seven’s debut label release was a deluxe re-release of their Home Truths EP via Invogue Records and saw huge collaborations with Rory Rodriguez (Dayseeker), Kellin Quinn (Sleeping with Sirens) and metalcore outfit Outline in Color, further staking Patient Sixty-Seven’s claim as one of the brightest young bands in the genre. Their rendition of Dua Lipa’s IDGAF has since surpassed 1.5 million streams on Spotify alone, continuing to mark their approachability in seamlessly blurring the lines between melody/aggression.
