Genre-bending guitar phenom, singer, and songwriter Samantha Fish has released a new video for “Crowd Control.” The soulful and sultry live rendition of the song, which appears on her eagerly-anticipated new album Faster (out September 10), gives fans a preview of what they can expect to see this fall when she and her touring band – bassist Ron Johnson, drummer Sarah Tomek, and keyboardist Matt Wade – go out on the road. “I’m really excited to bring these songs to the stage,” says Fish. “This is just the first taste.”

“‘Crowd Control’ is a song about growing up,” explains Fish.  “Dealing with failure, vulnerability, and coming to terms with the world and yourself.” She recalls, “When I wrote it, it felt like a true rootsy, Americana song. [Producer] Martin Kierszenbaum added keys and modern synth textures that really brought it back around to this plaintive mood.”

Faster is the follow-up to 2019’s acclaimed Kill or Be Kind, and marks Fish’s first collaboration with Kierszenbaum (Lady Gaga, Sting), who co-wrote eight of the album’s 12 new songs and helped the guitarist, singer, and songwriter to refine her sound and strike out into bold new sonic territory.

Over the course of her career as an award-winning artist, Samantha Fish has brought extraordinary power to her self-expression, capturing her inner world in combustible riffs, visceral rhythms, and spine-tingling vocal work. On Faster, she imbues even more intensity into her electrifying brand of blues/rock-and-roll. With Fish accompanied on the recording by multi-instrumentalist Kierszenbaum, legendary drummer Josh Freese (Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, The Replacements) and bassist Diego Navaira of The Last Bandoleros, the result is a singular body of work both irresistibly galvanizing and emotionally raw.

Samantha Fish’s Faster tour of the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom will begin on September 21 in Salt Lake City and will continue throughout 2022. A list of confirmed dates is below. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
