CICADASTONE release ‘Incandescent’, the seventh single from acclaimed album ‘Cold Chamber’

After releasing their critically acclaimed album Cold Chamber via Golden Robot Records in March 2021, Melbourne’s CICADASTONE have released a new single and video Incandescent’, the seventh track from their second full length release.

‘Incandescent’ is a song about sinking to your lowest and eventually finding your way out. To find that inner glow or strength to believe in yourself again. To pull yourself out of that hole and push forward. Slowly, burning, feeling incandescent tonight.

Cicadastone’s Cold Chamber is an album that continues to push the grunge rock boundaries and picks up where the 90’s movement left off. An authentic, dark and melodically driven soundscape, powerful in its execution, the songs are complex in design and detail yet flow with simplicity and ease.

The Melbourne based four-piece deliver music that packs a punch. With an old school 90’s influences and a slick modern edge, Cicadastone have found their own space in the grunge rock genre. Formed in 2013 by founding members and brothers Mat and Mark Robins, they have spent the last few years honing their sound and live show, as well as constantly writing and releasing quality music. In 2016 Cicadastone released their debut album “Chance Collide”. A bold statement and an impressive first release. 2019 saw Cicadastone sign with Golden Robot Records to release their highly anticipated second album titled “Cold Chamber” in 2020. Its an album that continues to push the grunge rock boundaries and a natural progression forward for the band.

Cicadastone’s Mat Robins has given The Rockpit some exclusive details into the shooting of the video, as well as sending us some behind the scenes photos, which are to follow shortly. Said Robins, “I made this video at home in the corner of the room. I had the idea to use glass jars to mess with the image. It was just trippy seeing these reverse images through the glass. I used three different sized jars for different scenes and effects. It was definitely one of those ‘make it up as you go’ kind of videos [laughs]. Built around a simple idea, it all fell into place really naturally and represents the song really well. I pushed the colours to give it a real 90’s feel and I think gives off that vibe perfectly.”

The 2LP black vinyl edition of COLD CHAMBER features 2 additional live acoustic tracks (not available on the CD or digital version of the album).
