Four-time Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling band Goo Goo Dolls have officially released Greatest Hits Volume 1: The Singles on vinyl for the very first time today via Warner Records. Originally issued on CD in 2007, the release marks a long overdue first vinyl pressing of Greatest Hits Volume 1: The Singles. The record is available online and in-store at select retailers now, including a limited-run LP pressed on Cola Bottle Clear vinyl that’s on-sale exclusively at Walmart. Get your copy of the record HERE.
The album boasts a diverse collection of songs spanning an incredibly successful era for the band, featuring all of their hit singles from 1995 to 2006 including “Name”, “Slide”, “Iris”, and “Black Balloon.” During that time, the band released some of their most popular records, A Boy Named Goo, Dizzy Up The Girl, Gutterflower, and Let Love In, which established them as a mainstay in alternative rock for decades to come.
With their highly anticipated thirteenth LP on the horizon, the band will embark on an expansive North American amphitheater tour this summer. Set to kick off on July 15, 2022 at Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa, ID, the nationwide tour will see the band performing at notable outdoor venues next summer, including newly-announced stops in Portland, OR, Santa Barbara, CA, Pittsburgh, PA and more. Blue October will provide support for the entire run. For more information and tickets, visit the band’s website here.
Last year, the band unveiled a surprise extended play titled EP 21, via Warner Records. Produced by frontman John Rzeznik and recorded during the pandemic, the project features stripped-back versions of four fan-favorite tracks from the band’s illustrious catalog.
In summer 2021, Goo Goo Dolls released a brand new compilation album, Rarities, a retrospective collection of 20 songs spanning more than a decade of their career. Containing songs that span 1995 to 2007, Rarities explores a prolific period during which the band released several chart-topping hits, ascended to mainstream stardom and cemented their footing as one of the most influential rock bands in recent memory. The double LP features numerous tracks never before released on digital streaming platforms or any physical format, including b-sides, live songs, acoustic renditions, radio performances, international releases and additional non-album tracks.
