Stevie Van Zandt proclaims Perth the rock ‘n’ roll capital of the world and ‘Open The Line’, the new single by Dom Mariani’s DATURA4, The Coolest Song In the World!
“The Coolest Song in the World This Week in the Underground Garage comes from the rock & roll capital of the world, Perth, Australia. Please welcome back to the Underground Garage stage, Datura4 Band, with ‘Open The Line'” – Little Steven’s Underground Garage.
Legendary main man of The Stems, Dom Mariani, and his heavy-hitting current band return with a soulful fuzz guitar, Hammond organ, and cowbell driven heavy groover.
Internationally acclaimed Perth band Datura4 – the current outfit of iconic Perth rock ‘n’ roller Dom Mariani of The Stems and Someloves fame – had the honor last week of having their new single “Open The Line” chosen as “The Coolest Song in the World” by Bruce Springsteen’s righthand man Stevie Van Zandt aka Little Steven on his influential and much-loved rock ‘n’ roll radio channel on SiriusXM, The Underground Garage. Dom, who is a long-time favourite of Stevie’s, was also interviewed on the channel on their weekly “Coolest Conversations” spot.
“Open The Line” was also featured in Classic Rock magazine’s Tracks of the Week, where it came in second behind Pink Floyd (and ahead of Jack White) in a readers’ poll.
As reported here at The Rockpit earlier this month, new album ‘Neanderthal Jam’ will be released on August 5 on Alive Natural Sound Records. Read more HERE.
