MEMORIA AVENUE – “MEMORIA AVENUE” Album Review

Frontiers Records - November 5th 2021

If nice clean uplifting Melodic Rock/AOR is your thing then you couldn’t go far wrong with Memoria Avenue – listen to opener ‘Stuck’ and you’ll know what I mean. If you want to know how a slower take on the template goes then ‘Stranded’ is next up, albeit with a faster chorus. It’s a song that has a progressive leaning and I’m not a huge fan, it all seems rather indirect.  Interestingly ‘Can’t Blame it on the Rain’ that follows is just as laid back but all rather great. As a union between guitarist Tor Talle and singer Jan Le’ Brandt Memoria Avenue largely works with a rare misstep here and there but I can take experimentation if it results in some of the highs here.
Think Work of Art and Perfect Plan and add a bright blue sky – if this album is the sign of what’s the come then these guys will be one to watch.
