The Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA, and Live Nation are thrilled to announce that one of the world’s biggest bands, Coldplay, will hold a special one-off concert in Perth as part of their Music of The Spheres World Tour.

Support will be provided by Australian singer-songwriters Amy Shark and Thelma Plum, who will each perform standalone sets.

This history making event will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Perth’s Optus Stadium. An Australian-exclusive, it is expected to drive thousands of visitors to Western Australia to experience an incredible performance, injecting millions into the local economy.

The Pre-sale commences Monday 15 May at 10am, running until Tuesday 16 May at 9am. Fans can sign up to participate in the presale HERE.

General public tickets go on sale on Tuesday 16 May at 10am at livenation.com.au. All times are local.

The band said today: “”We’re so happy to be returning to Perth for an extra special one-off show at Optus Stadium on November 18th this year. It’s a huge deal for us and we’re massively looking forward to coming back to Western Australia. It’s been way too long.” Coldplay

WA’s Deputy Premier, the Hon. Roger Cook, said, “The Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA, is proud to support Coldplay’s return to our state after fourteen years, with their first ever concert at our award-winning Optus Stadium.

“This drawcard event is all part of the WA Government’s and Tourism WA’s new major events strategy, to bring incredible events to the state that entice visitors to travel to Western Australia and enjoy all WA – the Dream State – has to offer.”

Mr Luke Hede, Vice President of Touring, Live Nation Entertainment, commented, “This partnership with the Western Australian Government is set to make history, by bringing one of the world’s most iconic and successful bands, exclusively to Perth in 2023. It’s hard to think of a better city for Australians to see Coldplay’s spectacular Music of the Spheres show, while making a weekend of it in our country’s sunniest capital city.”

After a triumphant 2022 where Coldplay sold more concert tickets than any other artist and broke attendance records around the world, the iconic band – who won Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards – will bring their spectacular stadium show, bursting with lasers, fireworks and LED wristbands to Perth, where they will perform classic hits such as “Yellow”, “Viva La Vida”, “Clocks”, “A Sky Full Of Stars” and “My Universe”.

Since kicking off in March 2022, the Music of The Spheres World Tour has sold over six million tickets across Europe, North America, and Latin America, receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike, with The Times calling it ‘the greatest live music show ever’, the Dallas Observer acclaiming the visuals as “mind-blowing” and the Houston Chronicle describing the band’s performance as “pure joy”.

The Australian-exclusive performance will be promoted alongside hotel packages designed to encourage visitors to stay longer and explore further.
