Following the announcement of their return to Australia & New Zealand, US rock band Dinosaur Jr. announce special guests Stepmother (AU only) and Office Dog (NZ only) will join them for their upcoming headline shows next February & March 2024.
Heading to Australia celebrating 30 years of their iconic album Where You Been, Dinosaur Jr. will be joined by Stepmother in Sydney on Wednesday 21 February for a show at Enmore Theatre, The Tivoli in Brisbane on Friday 23 February then Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall for a performance on Monday 26 February and Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday 28 February. Office Dog will join Dinosaur Jr. for their final show in Auckland at Auckland Town Hall on Saturday 2 March.
Joining Dinosaur Jr. on all Australians dates is Stepmother. The Australian power trio is fronted by Graham Clise (Annihilation Time, Lecherous Gaze, Rot TV, Witch). With Equal parts motor city proto punk and feedback drenched fuzz on the darker side of psychedelia, Stepmother plays anthems for the depraved sickos and rock n roll outsiders. With influences ranging from Blue Cheer Mc5, & The Pink Fairies to Nervous Eaters & The Damned.
Joining Dinosaur Jr. in Auckland is Ōtepoti/Dunedin trio Office Dog. Led by Kane Strang (guitar/vocals) alongside Rassani Tolovaa (bass) and Mitchell Innes (drums) the band have been on a steady roll since they burst onto the scene in 2022, with singles such as ‘Hand in Hand’ and ‘Big Air’ garnering instant airplay and charting success across New Zealand. Recently receiving support by esteemed U.S label New West Records to release their music worldwide as well as claiming the award for Te Rōpū Mariu (Favourite Group) at the Student Radio Network Awards in 2023, Office Dog are on track for big things in 2024 and beyond.
Last in Australia & New Zealand in 2017, performing shows across the country, with a reputation as one of the formative influences on American alternative rock, Dinosaur Jr. – J Mascis (guitar, vocals, primary songwriter), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and Murph (drums) – are ready to bring the classics down under. With over 14 albums to date and more than 30 years performing live on stage as a band, Dinosaur Jr. are bringing their best live set to date to Australia & New Zealand.
With a live performance to remember and a sprawling discography of hits, don’t miss out on these highly-anticipated Dinosaur Jr. shows as they make their way across Australia and New Zealand next February & March with special guests Stepmother & Office Dog.
