High Voltage is Perth Festival’s 2020 smash-hit Highway to Hell repowered for 2023 for families and people of all ages in the heart of Freo.

From Australian rock and blues icons to charismatic cabaret stars, fiery female punk rockers, gospel choirs, flame-throwing bagpipers, full-bore air guitarists and rock’n’rolling children’s lullabies, there will be something for everyone at High Voltage. This special free event will celebrate the power of music and community – and the legend of Freo’s favourite son Bon Scott – around some of the port city’s iconic landmarks from Fremantle Oval, the South Terrace Cappuccino Strip and South Beach.

Transperth is putting on extra services (normal fares apply including the $10 FamilyRider on the network) and free shuttle buses will be running to and from the event at Murdoch University and Murdoch and Fremantle train stations. See the Transperth event page for more.

To get there, it is strongly recommended that people try to avoid driving and pack lightly, allowing plenty of time to get there by public transport or by bicycle, walking or rideshare (note there is an exclusion zone around the event and rideshare will not be able to pick up within the road closures).
