Organisers are excited to announce the first Local Country Showcase to launch at the 2023 Gippsland Country Music Festival. The showcase seeks out local Gippsland musicians to join the 2023 line-up. Already a popular part of the event’s sister festival in the Goulburn Valley, the Local Country Showcase is part of the festival’s commitment to supporting the local community.
As Gippsland Country Music Festival celebrates its third year with a move to Lardner Park, the addition of onsite camping, and an impressive line-up headlined by Lee Kernaghan and Troy Cassar-Daley, with Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, Sara Storer, Kaylee Bell, Josh Setterfield, Jade Gibson and Gareth Leach, organisers are now looking for some fantastic local talent to share the stage. To enter the Local Country Showcase, performers must be from the Gippsland region.
Organiser Aidan McLaren said the festival are proud of the Local Country Showcase initiative. “We love being able to give really talented local artists the chance to perform on the same stage as some of the biggest acts in the country,” he said. “It’s also a great opportunity for them to meet the other artists and build connections that will hopefully lead to more opportunities for them. I’m sure we’ll find even more incredible local artists and we really do encourage all those who are interested to apply. As well as this, Jade Gibson, one of the winners from our sister event, the Goulburn Valley Country Music Festival, is on the line-up playing at Gippsland Country Music Festival this year. It shows that you never know what can happen by entering this kind of competition.”
For those interested in being part of the festival, Aidan encourages them not to delay in submitting their application. “It is a search to find the local country stars of tomorrow,” he said. “We’re looking for fantastic local singer-songwriters to join the line-up for Gippsland Country Music Festival this year. If you love making country music, and live in the Gippsland region, apply now at our website. The winners will get the opportunity to perform as part of the Local Country Showcase at the festival, in front of some of the biggest names in country music. If you are ready to take the next big step, read and complete the entry form on our website, and you could join the incredible line-up. Applications will close on March 24, and we’ll be in touch with everyone who enters to let them know if they are successful or not. Regardless, we encourage all of those interested to apply and our specially curated country music team will be listening to all applications.”
This event is proudly supported by Baw Baw Shire Council.
Applications are now open for the Local Country Showcase via the Gippsland Country Music Festival website. Applications close on March 24. Tickets for Gippsland Country Music Festival are on sale now. There are limited camping sites available so interested music fans are encouraged to book early.
