GUN announce acoustic ’23 tour

‘THE CALTON SONGS’ ALBUM OUT NOW, VIA CHERRY RED RECORDS

GUN will be hitting the road in 2023 for a series of special acoustic shows this Spring.

Following a benchmark year that saw them release the critically acclaimed new album ‘The Calton Songs’, pick-up multiple awards, headline festivals, and arrive to an electrifying homecoming crowd at the legendary Barrowland Ballroom in December; the Glasgow rock icons are now gearing up to raise the bar again in 2023.

Kick-starting the year with the announcement of their ‘Acoustic ‘23 Tour’, Dante and Jools Gizzi will be embarking on a run of 13 dates in some of the country’s more intimate spaces. Promising an opportunity to hear GUN’s earth-splitting rock classics re-worked in an all new way, the shows will see the pair playing all their hits and sharing outlandish tales from the road too.

Commencing on 6th April at Dundee’s Beat Generator, with stops in Manchester, Norwich, Brighton, and beyond, the tour will come to a head with a performance at London’s legendary 100 Club on 5th May, which will also see Dante and Jools joined by the full band. Tickets are on sale now, with full dates and details below.

MTV EMA award winners – GUN, were formed in Scotland by guitarist Giuliano Gizzi.  During their career GUN have achieved 3 UK top 20 albums and 8 UK top 40 singles including a cover of Cameo’s “Word Up” which reached the UK top 10 and charted all over Europe. GUN have toured extensively over the years most notably with The Rolling Stones on their ‘Steel Wheels & Urban Jungle’ tours.

In 2022, GUN enjoyed chart success with ‘The Calton Songs’, with the album clocking in at #2 on the Scottish album chart, #6 on the UK Indie Chart, #13 on the UK Physical Album Chart, and #52 on the Official UK Album Chart. GUN also received two major awards last November, with the band honoured with the Rock Legend award at Hard Rock Hell in Great Yarmouth and the Hard Rock Café Legends award at the Scottish Music Awards, the flagship event for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity.

The current line up consists of original members Dante Gizzi (Vocals) & Giuliano Gizzi (Guitar) along with Paul McManus (Drums), Andy Carr (Bass) and David Aitken (Guitar). Following a series of full-band shows over the Winter, Dante and Jools will be paring things back for a series of stripped-back acoustic shows this April/May.
