LIVE REVIEW: THE EXPLOITED with special guests TURD! & STUMPED

THE ROSEMOUNT HOTEL - 12th NOVEMBER 2023

The Exploited did what was expected as they entered, enjoyed the adulation quickly before rip roaring into their wild set at a frenetic pace. Since 1979 they have torn stages up and from the outset, that wasn’t looking to change anytime soon!

I don’t care how many new punk bands I see these days, nobody can keep up with the old boys. They were born to go balls to the wall and tell everyone to fuck off whilst they’re at it. They were just built different, because the angst they carry with themselves is real angst from a time where angst was real angst. Maybe I should say angst a few more times?

Early highlights were ‘Dogs Of War’s and ‘The Massacre’, just getting us settled into the next hour of a wild ride. It was a packed house at The Rosemount, and the fans were eating it up like a hungry dog chowing down on some chips and gravy.

The movement on stage is what I always pinged for for my old band, but unfortunately they didn’t have the spike in their gut like I did, and like The Exploited do. ‘Chaos In My Life’ is just fun, by the way. Their music is meant to keep you on the edge, I already know they’d hate my compliments in this review but whatever you bastards, this is how I feel. So bite me.

They played a cover of The Vibrators ‘Troops Of Tomorrow’s which has a real mean beat.

This was the most authentic you can get for a true blue Old School Punk Rock experience. They had been waiting a long time to get to this city and I can’t fault the show at all. They were in your face, we were told to “Fuck Off” 20 times, the only way it should be. Many thanks for the Exploited for giving us that authenticity that is so few and far between these days!

With the tour just getting underway why don’t you check out The Exploited in a venue near you, grab your tickets HERE
