MAGIC DIRT Announce 25th Anniversary Australian Tour

18-Date National Tour, Playing Their Classic Second LP In Full

Magic Dirt

Magic Dirt were one of the best rock’n’roll bands of the 90s and 2000s, both live and on record.

The Geelong quartet made a whole lot of noise and won a whole lot of fans thanks to their beautiful balance of rugged and sweet sounds. Many fans would argue that they struck that balance best on 1998’s Young & Full of the Devil, their fierce second album.

That record turns 25 this year, and Magic Dirt are getting on the road to celebrate that anniversary, bringing their swagger and charm to audiences at some of the best rock clubs around the country.

It’s an anniversary worth celebrating as it was a particularly significant album for the band. Not only did it see their popularity soar both at home and overseas, it marked a change in personnel with guitarist Raul Sanchez i Jorge joining the fold for the first time.

Featuring a few of the band’s most enduring songs, it’s a record that holds up wonderfully after 25 years, testament to the rock solid songcraft that was the foundation of these loud and frenzied tunes.

The band will play the album in its entirety on their forthcoming tour, giving us a gloriously raucous trip down memory lane.

They’ll be pulling weekend shifts, kicking off in Sydney towards the end of July and making their way around the country through August and September, before wrapping up with a return to Western Australia in November.

It’s a comprehensive tour, the biggest the band have embarked on in some time, taking in 18 dates across the space of five months.
