The fates have aligned in 2023, with Sydney heavy icons POLARIS today announcing their Fatalism Australian Tour this September. Set to launch their third full length album Fatalism with a giant run of shows around the country, POLARIS will also be joined by three special guests all the way from America, including Pennsylvanian metalcore merchants AUGUST BURNS RED, Texan heavies KUBLAI KHAN TX and Connecticut riff machines CURRENTS.

“I can’t wait to be hitting the road around Australia this September for our new album Fatalism. These are going to be some of our biggest headline shows to date and in venues I have dreamt about playing ever since I was a kid. We’re so damn excited to be joined by none other than our friends in August Burns Red, Kublai Khan TX and Currents while bringing along our biggest production to date. Get your tickets and we will see you at the show!“ Jamie Hails, Polaris

Commencing proceedings on Thursday 7 September at Metro City in Perth, the Fatalism Australian Tour will continue on a massive run around the country, visiting Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle, Brisbane and, to close out this mammoth tour, a night at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Saturday 16 September.

Fear and its potent ability to divide and unite us lies at the beating core of POLARIS’s third album Fatalism, officially due out on Friday 1 September via Resist Records in Australia and SharpTone Records for the rest of the world. Steeped in angst alongside underlying catharsis, an expanded thematic gaze and heavier sonic terrain, Fatalism organically builds on the bleak imagery and hard-hitting soundscapes permeating Polaris’s previous release, 2020’s The Death of Me, while also galvanizing the Sydney five-piece’s trademark blend of melodic metalcore, lush post rock, electronic flourishes and beyond.

POLARIS have already firmly established their place as a fixture in the Australian heavy landscape via their first two albums, 2020’s ARIA Award-nominated The Death Of Me and 2017’s The Mortal Coil, which debuted in the Australian Top 10. Having been awarded a laundry list of accolades along with sold-out headline tours of Australia and previous tours across the globe, including most recently performing at Good Things Festival in 2022 alongside headliners Bring Me The Horizon, 2023 will also see POLARIS head over to Europe this June for multiple European summer festival appearances, and a string of headline shows supported by Chelsea Grin and Kublai Khan TX.

Ferociously authentic, Grammy-nominated Lancaster collective AUGUST BURNS RED merge sharp atmospherics with aggressive bursts of controlled chaos alongside notions of brokenness and hope. Having previously toured alongside the likes of Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive and countless others, AUGUST BURNS RED’s most recent release, 2023’s Death Below, saw the band score resounding critical praise while charting in the top 10 of the US Top Hard Rock Albums, and rapidly furthering their millions of streams and global fans along the way.

Welding metalcore with hardcore elements, Texan quartet KUBLAI KHAN TX turn hardships into heavy and hypnotic wizardry. Forming in 2008 straight out of high school, KUBLAI KHAN TX have continued to build a dedicated following, from their debut full length Balancing Survival and Happiness in 2014, through to 2019’s Absolute, as well as recent tours alongside Thy Art Is Murder, Counterparts, Justice for the Damned and many more.

Armed with thoughtful, raw lyricism, massive breakdowns and moments of ambient tranquillity, Connecticut metalcore outfit CURRENTS aren’t afraid to ask hard-hitting questions while dousing you in metallic hardcore, melodics and electronic textures. Releasing their acclaimed debut album in 2017, The Place I Feel Safest, CURRENTS most recently unveiled their third album this year, The Death We Seek, and have previously toured around the world supporting Ice Nine Kills, Parkway Drive and beyond.

“Fatalism”; a belief that all events are pre-determined and therefore inevitable, and 2023 aligns a truly monumental lineup of some of the most exciting global metalcore bands for the Fatalism Australian Tour. Embrace the inevitable, and secure your spot for one of the most explosive tours of 2023.
