THORNHILL announce Prom Queen City Australian Tour

SPECIAL GUESTS: HOLDING ABSENCE (UK), THOUSAND BELOW (USA) & BLOOM

Dressed to kill and ready to thrill, Melbourne’s THORNHILL are bringing the glam and ferocious allure this October to a capital city near you, announcing their Prom Queen City Australian Tour, with very special guests HOLDING ABSENCE (UK), THOUSAND BELOW (USA) and BLOOM.

Commencing in Melbourne on Friday 20 October at the Forum Theatre, fans in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney will also get the chance to experience THORNHILL‘s finery as they traverse the country with some of their dearest friends.

Off the back of their ARIA Award-nominated 2022 album Heroine, THORNHILL solidified their reputation as one of the most innovative and immersive heavy acts in the Australian scene, with Heroine marked an alluring evolution from the group’s 2019 debut album The Dark Pool. Storming up the charts debuting at #3 on the ARIA Album chart, Heroine debuted at #1 on the Australian Album chart, and has had more than 8.5 million streams to date.

Rounding out a huge 2022 appearing at Good Things Festival with headliners Bring Me The Horizon and many more in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, THORNHILL also ticked off some of their biggest Australian shows to date last year, selling out most of their headline tour, supporting The Butterfly Effect nationally, and performing their first ever US headline shows on the east coast alongside supporting ERRA and Alpha Wolf.

Amassing a heaving array of accolades over the years, including triple j’s Feature Album and additions to countless Best Of The Year listings for their 2019 release The Dark Pool, THORNHILL recently completed a regional Australian headline tour as well as a mammoth North American run supporting The Plot In You in 2023, and will next be performing in the UK for Radar Fest alongside Sleep Token, Monuments and many more this July.

Holding Absence

Welsh rockers HOLDING ABSENCE are no strangers to penning emotionally-charged lyrics set alongside oscillating light and shade. With over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and an eagerly anticipated new album, The Noble Art Of Self Destruction, set to release on August 25, HOLDING ABSENCE are masters of capturing your attention and your soul. Having just returned from an extensive North American tour as the main support to The Plot In You and performing at Slam Dunk Festival, the band will also appear at Blue Ridge Rock Festival, Aftershock and more before rounding out the year with their album launch tour.

Thousand Below

Hailing from San Diego in California, THOUSAND BELOW blend vulnerability, ambience and an infectious energy. Centering their expansive range within their genre around their intimate experience through the stages of grief, THOUSAND BELOW‘s exploration of loss, life and healing lies at the core of their authentic and relatable signature sound. Returning from a North American tour supporting Nothing More, THOUSAND BELOW will appear at Ohio’s Inkcarceration next month alongside Limp Bizkit, Volbeat and many more, and will support Senses Fail across the States this September and October.

Sydney’s very own BLOOM bring lashings of melodics and instrumental ferocity, expertly balanced against emphatic lyricism. A band equally capable of conveying deep emotion alongside irresistible hooks and singalong-ready choruses, BLOOM most recently showcased their enigmatic sonic wares in Texas, supporting Hotel Ugly, with previous 2023 appearances also in the UK for Wickfest, at UNIFY’s Off The Record Wollongong edition and extensively around regional Australia supporting Ocean Grove.

Save the date and don’t be late, tickets won’t last long for this incredible line-up.
