In support of their Perth comrades Voyager and their Eurovision bid, Perth Symphony Orchestra‘s Inneka have recorded their unique version of ‘Promise’, filmed at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
Creative Director for Perth Symphony Orchestra, Fiona Campbell, said that “Perth Symphony are beyond excited to send this gift of love and support to Voyager from our beautiful home in the most isolated city in the world. Australia will be cheering you on and could not be prouder of you all, rocking it out on the world stage. GOOD LUCK VOYAGER!”
The band said of the performance and cover, “We’re truly speechless after seeing this incredible show of support from the Perth Symphony Orchestra and our beautiful State. This epic string version of our song “Promise” moved us to tears and we cannot be prouder to be ambassadors for Australia, Aussie music, and particularly our incredible WA music scene!”
Last week, the band announced their long-awaited eighth studio album, Fearless In Love, scheduled for release on July 14th via Season Of Mist. The band comprised of Daniel “Danny” Estrin (vocals/keyboards), Simone Dow (guitars), Scott Kay (guitars), Alex Canion (bass), and Ashley Doodkorte (drums) have been creating music together for over a decade.
Fearless In Love will be released on July 14th and is available for pre-order HERE.
In addition to the announcement of Fearless in Love, Voyager has released a new song from the album, “Prince of Fire.” Perhaps one of the heaviest tracks in the band’s history, “Prince of Fire” follows the album’s protagonist desperately trying harder to be better but continuing to go back to his old ways. The accompanying music video features showstopping visuals including pyrotechnics and LEDs which highlight the massive production and experimentation that went into creating the song. “Prince of Fire” is available via all digital service providers HERE
This week, Voyager will have the distinct honor of representing Australia at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. As long-term fans of the competition, the band has attempted to be in the competition since Australia announced its participation in 2015 but it was not until their multi-million streamed single “Promise” that it finally became their time to shine.
The iconic competition will be broadcast to over 160 million people during the Grand Final and for the first time, US fans will be able to vote. Eurovision 2023 takes place in Liverpool from May 9th – May 13th and can be streamed online HERE
