With Glam Fest Brisbane’s sudden cancellation less than a week out, fans took to social media to vent their frustration and disappointment at the sudden disappearance of the much-anticipated show this coming Saturday.
But for Melbourne hard rockers Ablaze and Shotgun Mistress, the thought of leaving hard rock lovers devoid of a solid Saturday night show was just not happening on their watch.
After all, the show MUST go on…
Teaming up with the original venue of Glam fest Brisbane, The Mansfield Tavern, Queensland hard rock heavyweights Catalano, Sunshine Coast legends Pity Vincent and Brisbane’s premier KISS tribute act KISSIT, the wheels were put in motion at top speed to pull everything together and guarantee Brisbane one huge night of rock n’ roll excellence.
And so, rising from the ashes, NEVER SAY DIE FEST is born!
With more acts to be announced in the coming days, this promises to be a night of big hair and bigger guitar riffs as the bands go above and beyond to bring Brisbane rock lovers the wild night (and seedy morning after) they had been waiting for!

To follow up the release of their first single in 2024 ‘Different Kind Of Nightmare’ Ablaze have put together a creepy new Lyric Video, pieced together from age old horror classics, their own Frankenstein’s monster.
Pairing perfectly with this theme the song itself showcases the band’s diverse writing styles and ventures down a shock rock and glam inspired path, with brooding, menace-filled vocals, telling a sinister story where every move has a price. These lyrics join forces with the band’s signature soaring harmonies, melodic guitar riffs and sing-along choruses in a captivating blend of darkness and melody to deliver a haunting anthem that will linger in your mind long after the final notes fade away.
Different Kind of Nightmare’ is the third single released in the lead up to Ablaze’s long-awaited second album and sees the band hit the road for the first time in 2024. After performing a standalone show at Adelaide’s new home of rock, the Woodshed, Ablaze will be appearing on the lineup for the highly-anticipated GlamFest ’24 in Melbourne and Sydney.
This will see the band share the stage with international rock icons such as
Slaughter, Lynch Mob, H.E.A.T., Janet Gardner (Vixen), Tyketto, Jetboy and The Cruel Intentions
as well as a host of current up-and-coming Aussie favourites.
