DEAR SEATTLE Announce Third Studio Album ‘TOY’ Due Out Friday 17 January 2025

Band Share New Single 'Evergreen'

Love, loss, addiction, nostalgia, and every salient moment of life in between beats at the insatiable core of TOY, the forthcoming third studio album from Sydney alt-rockers Dear Seattle, due out on January 17 in 2025 via Domestic La La.

Showcasing Dear Seattle both brandishing their trademark infectious craftsmanship while also showcasing their palpable creative growth over the past few years, TOY is an emphatic collection of relatable anthems to belt at the top of your lungs; an album that feels instantly familiar yet fresh in one exhilarating sweep that unfurls across the space of 12 tracks.

Accompanying the announcement of their forthcoming new album, Dear Seattle have also released a brand new single today, with the soaring new track Evergreen following on from earlier singles Sungazer, idc and Nothing’s Stopping Me Now.

Of their brand new single, Dear Seattle share: “Evergreen sits in the centre of my struggles with emotional honesty. To others, yeah, but more importantly to myself. It’s all too common for people, men especially, to bottle up their emotions and avoid confronting the way they feel, because we were never really taught how. So we sit and we stew and we wallow in our thoughts far longer than we ever should. Be it love, fear, anger, guilt, or lust occupying us, learning how to honestly and vulnerably communicate the way we feel is the most useful tool we can master. I’ve always struggled with a feeling of inadequacy, which led me down the path of perfectionism and forever being my own worst critic. For me, learning to open up and let it out was the sole difference between melancholy and evergreen.”

With a distinctive Aussie tinge to their emotive and propulsive wares, Dear Seattle first emerged onto the scene back in 2013, releasing their debut EP Words Are Often Useless that same year. Following a second EP release, 2017’s self-titled Dear Seattle, the Northern Beaches-hailing group solidified their presence with their first ever full-length album Don’t Let Go in 2019, also securing the group a #10 spot on the ARIA Australian Album Charts.

Unleashing their powerful sophomore album Someday in 2022, Dear Seattle expanded their legacy to even greater heights, with Someday debuting at #4 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts, a Spotlight Album feature on triple j, and Rolling Stone declaring that “Dear Seattle is born again“.

Continuously honing their modern take on old school pop punk and alt-rock over the years, Dear Seattle have previously performed alongside the likes of Hockey Dad, Trophy Eyes and Dune Rats, with multiple headline tours and appearances at Splendour In The Grass, UNIFY Gathering, Party In The Paddock and more in their wake.

Whether charming Missy Higgins herself with their 2019 triple j Like A Version cover of The Special Two, launching their own beer, burning up the charts and airwaves, or penning melodic, heartfelt delights that’ll have you equally singing along and banging your head, Dear Seattle are a band who build unforgettable moments around authenticity and charming execution – and the upcoming 2025 album TOY is undeniably yet another home run from the Sydney quartet.
