The Damned released the first ever U.K. Punk Rock single, they also released the first ever U.K. Punk Rock album, and they were the first U.K. Punk band to Tour the United States. But they were and are a band that didn’t play by the rules! Their second album was produced by Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, and their 4th album ‘The Black Album’ was a double record that featured a 17 minute song! These guys were no ordinary Punks and played by their own rules! Over the years they have split and reformed on many occasions but when they are together there’s nothing quite like a Damned show.
