LIVE REVIEW: The Casualties with Strung Out @ Hook and Ladder Minneapolis, MN 4/27/2024

This was a balls to the wall old fashioned punk rock show, complete with many of the old Minneapolis punks showing up to support. This was the first show like this In have attended in over 30 years. It was exactly what I needed after a very long and hard week. It was filled with chaos and fun. From stage diving to moshing. They were even able to create a wall of death!

For me The Casualties stood out above the other bands. They by far had the best energy, songs, attitude, and hair! They embrace everything that punk rock is to me. I was surprised how melodic the songs were. Catchy riffs and over the top energy.

Headliners Strung out have been a band for 35 years and the band many were there to see.  They were good but the crowd changed and was a lot less energetic. They were more polished than the other bands and it felt less punk to me and more like a pop band.

When The Casualties were playing, I felt like I stepped into the movie Decline of the Western Civilization. It took me back to years gone by and it was so much fun. Even if you are a hardcore metal head, check these bands out!
