Melbourne’s NAT ALLISON Releases New Single ‘Killing Time’

Produced by Allison, the track explodes with big, exciting drums, Nat’s signature wall of guitars, and an electrifying solo. Suzi Q’s unmistakable bass line drives the song, which tells the relatable story of someone who’s just been ‘Killing Time’ with you. We’ve all had one of those in our lives, right?

Nat said about ‘Killing Time’, “While I was in Austria playing a resident gig in St. Anton, I had a video chat catch-up with Suzi Quatro. During our chat, she mentioned she had some lyrics for a song and wanted me to write the music and vocal melody. After receiving the lyrics, I spent the next few days working on the song. With only my iPhone’s Voice Memo app on hand, I recorded the initial idea and sent it back to Suzi. We made plans to record a demo once I returned to London later that year.

We eventually booked time at a studio near Suzi’s place (which, honestly, felt like something straight out of Fawlty Towers—but that’s a whole other story! 🤭). Along with a drummer and keyboard player, we laid down the track. Fast forward a few years, when I was back in Melbourne, I went into Ricki Rae’s studio, ‘Lighthill,’ and re-recorded the track from scratch. This time, Johnny Salerno played drums, Paul Cecchinelli handled the keys, and I took care of the bass, guitars, and vocals.”
