Australia’s fastest rising indie-rock duo Old Mervs are set to play the biggest shows of their career when they embark on their ‘How The Fark Are Ya?’ tour this August and September. Bringing their high-energy shows to cities across Australia, the loveable larrikins are also crossing the pond to our mates in New Zealand.
Kicking things off in NZ, Old Mervs will be playing in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and Snow Machine Festival in Queenstown, before heading back home to visit Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart and Adelaide. Marking their biggest headline shows to date, they’ll be amping up in major clubs and theatres across the country with some all ages shows in the mix too. They’ll be joined by good pals Fool Nelson as their main support, ready to hit the stage in all cities.
Old Mervs’ home state show will be something else all together with the inaugural ‘Old Mervs Live at Freo Arts Centre’ event. This massive all ages special event will not only be the duo’s biggest headline show to date, it will also feature a stack of stellar acts handpicked by Dave and Henry, including Ra Ra Viper, Fool Nelson, Ullah and Hey So Hungry. The boys are dead set on championing WA’s incredible local music scene, simultaneously bucking the recent downturn trend of events and touring. The big event will take over the beaut grounds of Fremantle Arts Centre on Saturday 14 September and will be one for the memory books!
Not ones to stay put for long, this huge string of dates follows on from their Comin’ To A Town Near You! Regional Tour, which earlier this year saw them selling out shows from as far west as Geraldton to as far east as Torquay, showing love to the same kind of regional communities they come from themselves.
Old Mervs kicked 2024 off with a bang, placing at 47 in the triple j Hottest 100 with “Sweetheart” and scoring a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2024 Rolling Stone Awards.
Released in August 2023, their sophomore EP Give It Up debuted at #2 in the Australian ARIA charts and has now collected over 4.5 million streams, capturing the hearts of listeners nationwide. This is the first chance for NZ fans and Australia’s capital cities to hear their new favourite Old Mervs tracks live and in concert.
An unbreakable bond shared between lifelong mates, Dave and Henry hail from the tiny farming community of Kojonup, a town three hours south of Perth, Western Australia. Starting out as school friends and rehearsing in a makeshift space in an old farm shed, Old Mervs are a far cry from their humble beginnings.
Turning heads of industry and fans alike with their sunny sound, the duo have a string of headline tours under their belt and have supported some major tours including Liam Gallagher, The Wombats, Spacey Jane and King Stingray. A festival favourite, Old Mervs have played slots at Groovin the Moo, Yours and Owls, Splendour in the Grass and more.
Don’t miss your chance to ask Old Mervs “how the fark are ya?”
as they hit the road this August and September.
