OLD MERVS announce second Sydney show due to huge demand

WA indie-rock duo Old Mervs have added a second Sydney show to their upcoming ‘How The Fark Are Ya?’ tour due to overwhelming demand. With multiple dates fast approaching sold out status, the loveable larrikins are set to play the biggest shows of their career this August and September across Australia and New Zealand.

With Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch selling fast, the duo have sold out Brisbane and Sydney shows, with second shows in both cities, on sale now. All set to hit up Snow Machine Festival in Queenstown, they’ll be heading back home to play packed shows in Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide, joined by good pals Fool Nelson as their main support, along with a local artist from each city to get the party started.

Gearing up for a massive homecoming, Old Mervs’ home state show on Saturday 14 September will be one for the memory books with the inaugural ‘Old Mervs Live at Freo Arts Centre’ event. This all ages special event will not only be the duo’s biggest headline show to date, it will also feature a stack of stellar acts handpicked by Dave and Henry, including Ra Ra Viper, Fool Nelson, Ullah and Hey So Hungry.

Old Mervs kicked 2024 off with a bang, placing at 47 in the triple j Hottest 100 with “Sweetheart”and scoring a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2024 Rolling Stone Awards.

Released in August 2023, their sophomore EP Give It Up debuted at #2 in the Australian ARIA charts and has now collected over 4.5 million streams, capturing the hearts of listeners nationwide. This is the first chance for NZ fans and Australia’s capital cities to hear their new favourite Old Mervs tracks live and in concert.

An unbreakable bond shared between lifelong mates, Dave and Henry hail from the tiny farming community of Kojonup, a town three hours south of Perth, Western Australia. Starting out as school friends and rehearsing in a makeshift space in an old farm shed, Old Mervs are a far cry from their humble beginnings.

Turning heads of industry and fans alike with their sunny sound, the duo have a string of headline tours under their belt and have supported some major tours including Liam Gallagher, The Wombats, Spacey Jane and King Stingray. A festival favourite, Old Mervs have played slots at Groovin the Moo, Yours and Owls, Splendour in the Grass and more. They’ll be bringing their mosh-ready new single “What You’ve Lost” to the stage, giving fans an early preview of new music set to drop later this year.
