SUNBLEACHED Share Reflective New Single ‘No Cure For Life’

Brisbane alt-rock band Sunbleached dive into 2024 with new single, No Cure For Life, ahead of their appearance at New Bloom Festival in Brisbane this March. Tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.

Swimming in sounds of nostalgic shoe-gaze and melancholic emo, No Cure For Life is an exploration of the band’s sound thus far and builds upon elements established on the quartet’s 2023 sophomore EP release, ‘Delicate Places We Hide‘. Vocalist Josh Baker comments, “‘No Cure For Life’ was originally written to coincide with ‘Delicate Places We Hide’. The intention behind it was to write a song that was an amalgamation of all the sonic elements found on that EP.”

Produced and recorded with long time collaborator Dylan Cottee, No Cure For Life is a reminder to be present in times of panic and learn to breathe through it. Baker expands, “It also serves as a bit of a self reflection exercise for me”.

Sunbleached will head out on the road for their first shows of 2024 in February, accompanying Late November and Giant Palms atop stages in Townsville and Mackay. Following this they will make their very first festival appearance at Brisbane’s New Bloom Festival in March, sharing the stage with heavyweight international alt rock acts Movements, Citizen, Touché Amoré, No Pressure, Softcult and many more. Tickets on sale now.

Sunbleached is Josh Baker (vocals), Bradley Maddaford (guitar), Zane Hughes (bass) and Brent Ottley (guitar). With all members winding down from previous music projects, sunbleached set out in 2020 to create a fresh and authentic alternative rock project ripping inspiration from decades past, reimagined for the present.

The quartet began their journey with the 2021 two-track release containing the light hearted title track Rose Tinted and the polar opposite offering, Flowers Grow From Ugly Places. The pairing garnered radio support from triple j on Home and Hosed, Lunchtime, short.fast.loud, Unearthed TOPS and secured an Unearthed Track of the Day placement. Blunt Mag affirmed: “The future of post-hardcore is in good hands, so long as Brisbane trailblazers sunbleached are the ones holding it.

The band played BIGSOUND 2022 on the Destroy All Lines showcase and backed it up with two singles that later found their way onto the sophomore EP, ‘Delicate Places We Hide‘. Singles found their way onto multiple Spotify playlists including Local Noise, Rock Out. and Fresh Finds AU + NZ. Sunbleached have performed alongside the likes of Movements (US), Boston Manor (UK), Holding Absence (UK), Void of Vision, Deadlights, Mirrors, Pridelands, Dregg and Waxflower to name a few, gaining the backing of booking agency Destroy All Lines.

No Cure For Life” is available now and streaming everywhere.
