Earlier in 2024 songwriter Tim Steinruck aka STEINRUCK, awoke from a lucid dream with a specific word and melody in his awareness, as often happens with this spiritually inspired creative. He quickly wiped the sleep from his eyes without questioning what he’d heard, and stumbled to his recording studio where he picked up his guitar, plugged in his microphone, and pressed record. What resulted was a reggae song that captured what he had heard in his dream.
Afterwards he researched the meaning of Yahweh and was shocked to realize it’s divine, sacred history and meaning. Typically Tim is a hard rock and acoustic rock artist but this song inspired a creative departure to reggae. Soon after his instincts guided him to share it with frontman Tarzzy Metta of the Papua New Guinean band Ancient Dusk, who had recently signed to Canada’s Big Records, a company for whom Tim consults.
The song was warmly received by Tarzzy and his producer with the agreement to add their signature island sound. Ancient Dusk producer Raymond Waloloki immediately envisioned a cinematic approach to the song which now includes their indigenous Bola language and features traditional Papua New Guinean native instruments.
Tarzzy Metta recounts how emotional he and the Ancient Dusk group felt after hearing what had been captured in their recording session. Tim also shares how he was brought to tears when he heard what they had done with the song.
YHWH is not just a song. It is a energetic transmission of the ineffable essence of the Creator that transcends time and space, and celebrates our collective human and spiritual experience with Oneness.
