Western Australian Heavy Rockers BLACK KANYON TO Release New Single ‘So Low’

Black Kanyon emerges from the sun-bleached beaches of Perth, ready to shake the rock scene once again with their blistering new single “So Low,” the second release from their upcoming sophomore EP. The main riff was initially brought to the band by bassist Ty Barwick. “So Low” weaves together the band’s collective creativity, with Ty Barwick’s evil-tinged basslines merging seamlessly with Dave Brennan’s energetic drums while searing guitar solos courtesy of Tom Purdy add layers of intensity. Vocalist Daniel Connell’s lyrics delve into themes of betrayal and heartache, calling out toxic behaviour with unyielding force. Connell states that the song is about “The self-inflicted result of loneliness and sadness because of the act of Betrayal.”

“We wanted to create something that hits hard and makes you want to headbang,” says Barwick. “The song captures that feeling of being pushed to the edge and also brings an energetic and fierce nature to our setlist.”

“So Low” is slated for release on July 19th and marks the band’s evolution towards a more defined and assertive musical identity. This track is the second single from Black Kanyon’s eagerly anticipated sophomore EP, scheduled to drop in September, promising an electrifying continuation of their sonic journey.

Hailing from the sun-bleached Perth coast, Australia, Black Kanyon is a powerhouse rock band known for their dynamic sound and electrifying live performances. With influences drawn from iconic acts such as Pearl Jam, Guns n Roses, Audioslave, Royal Blood, and Rival Sons. The band continues to push boundaries with their compelling blend of heavy riffs, intricate melodies, and resonant lyrics.

Following the success of their debut EP, Black Kanyon has amassed a devoted following and shared stages across Western Australia with renowned acts such as End of Fashion and Rag Doll. With many more huge tours and supports to come, Black Kanyon is a heavy rock force to be reckoned with.
