The Birdsville Big Red Bash (QLD) was officially crowned Australia’s BEST Festival & Event – taking home GOLD at the prestigious Australian Tourism Awards on Friday March 21st.
The Birdsville Big Red Bash is the world’s most remote music festival and celebrates the spirit of adventure, community and world-class entertainment in a breathtaking location in the Simpson desert in Outback Queensland. Winning this national award is recognition for the hard work and dedication of the team from the Outback Music Festival Group, as well as the hundreds of volunteers who support them and the artists and passionate festival-goers who make the event truly unforgettable.

The Birdsville Big Red Bash event is taking a one year breather in 2025, with special John Williamson Big Red Sunset Concerts being staged this July 8 & 9, right atop the iconic Big Red sand dune to keep the Bash spirit alive in the Simpson desert.
The July 8 date is already SOLD OUT and tickets to the July 9 event are flying out the door.
